And NO I am not talking about Crippler....

Many of you have been to my place before, for poker games, for rain outs from the softball game or just for merriment and drinks. And alot of you have met my FORMER roomate Sylvia.

Over the last few months she has shown some actions that...as was BEST put by Crippler..."showed she is socially retarded" (I thought that was brilliant).

Examples: When she got a cell phone (the very first one she owned) about almost a year ago, I asked for her number in the event of an emergency at home or something to that effect.
Her response: "Oh no darlin' (she thinks she is some southen belle or some shit like that) I am only giving that # to my girls, my Boyfriend and my mother"
"So what happens if there is a fire or something like that at the house....and we cannot reach you?"
Syl: "Then I will find out when I get home"
Ugh...if that happened I would have left a big sign..."Sylvia....sorry about your shit...but since you did not give us your phone number...oh well"

Ex #2: On the day we had the most snowfall outside all winter (what was it, like 5 or 6 inches?) I was outside shovelling snow and Cripp was upstairs looking outside the window talking to me (with his leg he could not help...obviously) and who do I see looking over his shoulder? Roomate #2 who stared at me for like 30 seconds and went back onto the couch. No help from her what-so-ever.

And the final proof....
about 45-60 days ago we noticed she got ride of several book-cases that were in the living room area (some of you who have been to my house know what I am talking about). One held books and the other help VHS tapes.
Crippler and I questioned each other:
"Is she planning on leaving soon?"

Then two other pieces of furniture went missing/were gone about 2 weeks later. Pieces that we had used in the kitchen. So Crippler and I had outright asked her "Are you trying to tell us something here?
Her response?
"Oh no....just trying to get rid of some shit that I was not using so when I finally do decide to move (note she said do DECIDE to move...so she could have told us right then and there she was looking for a place) I have less shit to take with me"

Then last weekend I returned from my sisters wedding....on sunday...and I see her bedroom is full of boxes and is being broken down.
So I asked her when she was moving
"Well wish me luck darlin' I will know if I have the place by the end of the week or not"
I asked her where she was planning on moving to...she said "NJ"
I said well NJ is a pretty big place...want to whittle it down a bit...moving to another county?
Yes.
Oh? Which County?
"I am staying in NJ"
What a retard. I said she was not THAT important that we would be stalking her.
Today...at the end of the week...she moved out.

So much for the "I will know by the end of the week if I get the place". She already had the place and was planing on being gone. We (Crip and I) both saw it coming, but thought maybe she was not SO retarded that she would walk out Stone-Cold style with two middle fingers raised in the air.
Now we do not have a lease...but I think MORALLY she should have told us at least something, instead of a day later he and I need now almost 500.00 more to cover rent and utilities. I now have to change the ones in her name back into mine.

I know I am not the easiest person to get along with, but am I wrong to think she not only was acting like an ass but also should have given us the proper notice to either find another roomate or give us time to get the money together instead of trying to kick us in the nuts?

Actually, her life was anything BUT sheltered.
She had several family tragedies and was married at a very early age. So it is not like she was not able to learn some social graces.
I just want to make sure I am not over-reacting with my obvious state of being upset over this.
I think Cripp and I were pretty much shitted on.

Sounds to me like you had a feeling this was coming. Yeah she should have gave you a warning but there are 2 sides to every story. It also sounds like she didnt want to tell anything b/c maybe she no longer wants any contact with you? She wouldnt give you her cell or tell you where she was getting an apartment? Maybe she was doing this b/c she didnt know how to tell you she wanted to end all ties with you?

I dont know I have been there a million times and you know I thought she was semi slow. But at the end of the day if you have no lease and she moved out she had every right to do so. I agree she should have gave you a warning but something tells me you knew it was coming soon, or she did this out of spite for other things???

Dont worry maybe you will get another roomate or you guys can find another place to live.

Now have another poker game. You have more room!!!!

Great! Just great! Now who's going to catch for us during the softball games?

And about the snow thing. Growing up, me and my bro did all the shoveling while my sister stayed inside and watched us. But she's a girl!

So stop your crying.

Ant, honestly I could care less about her not wanting any contact with me. The cell phone thing was not a question of personal but more logical. If you lived in an apartment with roomates you would most likely share your cell # in the event of an emergency. that is common sense. And I did not even ask what town she was moving to, just the county. Not like I am going to drive around the freaking state looking for this wack-a-doo. But I do not think she was looking to just avoid me, she did the same thing to Crippler. Did not even tell him where she was off to.

She has every right to leave, and I do not care if she left or wound up staying, but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about things, and she did it the WRONG way.

And no matter what, there is no excuse to screw Crippler over. This effects him more then myself. I doubt HER side would clarify things. You have to remember, we are discussing a person who thinks she knows the answers to everything. And she would say something JUST to argue a point. If you said the sky was blue...she would say it was more aqua. (hmmm...reminds me of a few board personalities)

If she has issues with me (although I have no idea what they would be since I barely interacted with her in the past 5-6 months) then it was up to her to bring them to me. If this is how she deals with things she is a sad person indeed.
I feel sorry for her BF. He is gonna have a sad time trying to deal with her in the next few years.

Aren't most EX-roomates socially retarded? My last room-mate was fine but the one before that was insane. It didn't help that we weren't really friends when we moved in together. It was just that we both needed an apartment. This girl turning tricks or something? Seems sure that she's hiding something.

Nah, she just was either at work or home. But during the week she would pretty much come home at like 7ish and just crawl into her room and stay there. She would RARELY ever come out and do anything.
On the weekends she would be on the couch with her BF and watch stupid old movies on Digital cable. Well not all the movies were stupid....some were pretty fun to watch too.
Gotta love Conan.

She pretty much was predictable.

Budday. that is totally messed up what she did. I was in a situation where I totally didnt get along with a roommate (which happened to be my best friend's girlfriend at that time). When I say we didnt get along- I mean we used to have shouting matches- and she was all up in my business and she was trying to put me in a bad light to my best friend tell him all kinds of bull shit like Im an alcoholic and what not.
But even knowing all this was going on I gave her 6 months to find another room-mate.
Do you know I found out that all her other room mates after I moved out only lasted a month with her before they left.
But like I said I think she should have given you at the very least a few months to put out ads and stuff for room mate wanted or whatever instead of giving the shaft with no notice.

Lets recap buddays,
1) She was a stupid bitch
2) Not hot
3) Socially retarded
4) took her shit with her (as opposed to leaving it for you to deal with)
5) Sounds like she didn't stiff you with any outstanding bills
6) and the best for last - SHE'S GONE !

Count your blessing man! She could have been one of those freak roommates that you can't seem to get rid of and you just know you'll get caught if you smother them in their sleep, chop them up in little bits, and put the parts down the disposal which then gets the sink drian all clogged up, starts to smell, and then the super get suspecious when he comes to fix the pipes and calls the cops...

(I do NOT speak from experience)

and if you tell anyone that I do, I'' have reeshy pay you a late nite visit if you know what I mean.

I realize that it's a financial inconvinence, but you are probably better off. I always thought she was a little "off" but not too nuts. You have to admit that it was kind of an odd situation in the first place. She still should have told you she was leaving, that was kind of a shitty thing to do, but looking at the bigger picture I think your situation has improved.

Although she was a bit of a recluse she was not that bad. That is what made all of this more puzzling then anything else. We never really had any shouting matches. Many times we respected each others space. The only time I can recall she had a problem was with New Years Eve. And even that did not turn out to be as bad as she had thought it would be.
If we were butting heads all the time I would understand this more but....

I wrote her a scathing email. Not too insulting but pretty to the point.
Some of it: "I wanted to let you know that I think what you did was wrong.
The decent and MORAL thing to do would have been to give us 30 days notice that you were planing on leaving. That way we could either try to get another roomate OR have time to come up with the extra 400 bucks to help pay for the rent and utilities.
When confronted about you moving it was a battle to get ANY information. When we asked you you said "Do not worry I would let you know if I were moving". But you already knew you were heading out."

And also another part: "we did not CARE if you were leaving or staying. That is your right to move out anytime. But HOW you did it was just socially retarded. No if, ands or Butts about it. You should have at least told us in the beginning of the month that you were moving out. ESPECIALLY since you were asked about it by me personally.
You always had to make things difficult by being difficult. I guess this was your attempt at a final say of things. There was no animosity with us, we had lived in harmony for years. And this is how you leave?
Nice. I believe in kharma. And I hope it is kind to you."

Other shit was said also, but that was the meat of it.

And Fiesty...(good to have ya back hon)...so i met her on the train...big deal. We did alot more interacting then that.
What a shame things had to end like this. Talk about burning bridges.

Now we have a guest room though!

My old roomate would dissapear when it was time to pay the rent or show up month and a half later with double the rent all of a sudden. Or would constantly be short or late with the rent and claim it was because her check bounced from the place that she worked at. Only thing is she worked at 3-4 different places over the time she lived here. So of course...NATURALLY....every place you work at would give you a bounced check here and there....of course, its standard, happens to everyone right ? RIGHT ? The very best was how I would come home and the cable would be off....or the electricity would be shut off cause she wouldnt pay the bills....even though I would hand her my end of the utilities. And then when I finally tossed her I found a stack of cable bills and utility bills hidden in the apartment.

GOOD TIMES!

She moved in on the same day we had the softball game in Amityville, Long Island 2003.

And Suggs...we never had a lease. Asked for it for the 1st 4 months of living here and gave up when the landlord never produced one.

As if we did not know she wsas dumb enough.

She contacted Crippler via email to drop off the keys and several items she mistakenly took that were not hers.

In the email she suggested that since they were going to be in the area that she drop off her oldest daughter to HANG OUT AT THE APARTMENT FOR A FEW HOURS!!!

Is this chick out of her freaking mind? And I also found out she did read the email.
So after knowing she fucked up she still had the brass ones....or was retarded enough....to suggest her oldest daughter (who neither of us can stand) come and hang out here, like it is still where her mom lives.

Oh yes I should point out...her oldest daughter CONSTANTLY was hitting on Crippler left and right. And VERY obviously. He kept politely turning her down but this chick never got the hint.

Oh and in case you were wondering, Crippler said (and I am para-phrasing here) That considering how she left and how we feel about what happened, that is not exactly a good idea. And also he told her that I do not get along with her daughter (which is very true)

I really cannot believe she suggested that. No one is THAT fucking clueless!
