I finally got to listen to Fez's birthday show this morning, and the news of Gail-O passing made me very sad. She was one of my favorite people on the show, she always brought great radio. And the little tribute Earl threw together made me realize how many great quotes she had.
So, uhh... what's your favorite Gail-O line?
There was one in the tribute that I had never heard that immediately became my favorite, and I think I'm going to start using it in my daily life.
"All I have is you...AND YOU SUCK!"
It's just perfect. And let's not forget Perry's song about her, which is probably the best RnF show song made (at least one of them).
So Rest In Peace Gail-O. We'll miss you, and your radio gold.

I was listening on the way home and caught it mid-stream, and I couldn't decide if she's really dead or not.

She's dead. She really is.

Too bad. Condolences all around. Makes me feel guilty now for laughing at her the past 2 years.
Thanks for the update.

my favourite gail/paul exchange was something like:
Gail- "thats what makes your ignorance that much more profound"
Paul- "Im not profound"
immediately i saw the absurdity and insanity of the relationship. always makes me smile that line...its like a Chico Marx turnaround.
like, is he being incredibly quick, accidentally witty or does he totally misunderstand? brilliant.
i really hope i get a chance to use that someday.

I literally just laughed out loud at work over that. Hilarious.

Mooch, you can't make stuff like that up.
What a ride those two gave us.

The first time I heard her was in a best of from the WJFK days which had both the "they came to MY HOUSE!" and "I want those bastards put in jail!" quotes. I especially like the second one since she was actually talking about the police who arrived earlier in the day when she set off the alarm system in the house. I also loved that half the time she thought it was still the Ron & Ron show and Fez would correct her under his breath.

I remember when they first aired "calm Gail". It was the first time she wasn't yelling. They played clips of her normal yelling, and she couldn't believe it was her.

No. It was WJFK. But they've played bits of it on XM. The part they would play the most was "Paul's great, Paul's great".

My favorite Gail-O moment was when she was talking to the 2 kids, telling them how harsh and miserable life is. I can't turn it off when they replay that. And I can't remember any of her specific lines.
Ron had a great line that day too, "Yeah, let's come up with a good name for your band."

There are far too many great Gail-O moments to even single out one.
She and Paul-O provided great radio. I feel for Paul's loss and hope Gail is in a better place now.

I cant remember the specifics either, but Gail desperately trying to give the kids the Truth About Life, how Cruel Life will be..., was for me, simultaneously the saddest, funniest, most pathetic [in the sense of tragic figure with a fatal flaw, not in a derogatory way], and on some weird level, the Sanest, Truest Thing she ever uttered.
I'm no 'Life Sucks' Nihilist, but that was some brutally frank stuff, and I agree with a lot of it, and that means, with that life view, the way to deal with it is by laughing at it, and hearing her say that had me saying 'Holy Living Fuck' to my radio.
She [and Paul-O] were/are a radio Fort Knox.
She was superb.

Paul and Gail gave me so many laughs, and I have most of the clips saved on my computer. Here it is: http://www.ronfez.net/displaymedia.cfm/id/2987

This one is absolutely hysterical . . . but so sad at the same time.
