Does anyone know what the page in a novel where the author may offer one or more quotations from other sources that somehow relate to the story is called? I learned it in a college english class a few years back but I can't remember now.

I think it is called an epigraph, but I don't have a dictionary handy to check.

epigraph -
A motto or quotation, as at the beginning of a literary composition, setting forth a theme.

Wow, I learned a new word today.
