From top rope newsletter:
*The following is an official press release from Xtreme Professional
Wrestling.

ORLANDO, Florida - Pro wrestling's hottest stars of today, as well as
the top talent of tomorrow, have joined forces to launch the XWF, a new
pro wrestling league that promises to bring back all of the tradition,
excitement and fan-friendly activities that seem to have been missing in
recent years from one of America's favorite pastimes.

The XWF will debut with the taping of 10 hours of TV programming on
Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 13-14, 2001, at Universal Studios, Orlando.
Tickets are free, and can be reserved by calling: 407/224-5871. Details
are not yet available for when the shows will air on TV.

Among the ring superstars who have come aboard the XWF ship are Roddy
Piper, The Nasty Boys, Rena (the former WWF Women's Champion), Hacksaw
Jim Duggan, Mean Gene Okerlund, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Konan,
Vampiro, the Road Warriors, The Demon, Curt Hennig and Buff Bagwell.
Also on the XWF team are such all-time pro wrestling favorites as Jerry
"The King" Lawler, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart and Greg "The
Hammer" Valentine, plus announcers Tony Schiavone and David Penzer.

Looking to the future, the XWF has signed some of the top young talent
from around the world, including 6'9"-360 lb. Hail, "The British Storm"
Ian Harrison, European Giant Drezden, Puerto Rico's Ray Gonzales, The
Shane Twins, Kid Krash, Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis and Chris Daniels.

"We want to bring professional wrestling back to the fans - - the folks
who helped make pro wrestling great, but who seem to have been forgotten
in recent years," stated Ludwell Denny, Executive Chairman of the XWF.
"We believe that by presenting the public with a cast of world-renowned
wrestlers and personalities, while simultaneously signing and developing
new talent that rivals the old heroes in skill, size and ability, we
will provide pro wrestling fans with a new league of their very own!"
added John Flood, President of the XWF.

The XWF opens with offices in Tampa, FL, and New York City. Denny is
Chairman of Planet E-Shop, which operates in conjunction with the
Hinduja Group the first and only live shopping channel in India. Planet
E-Shop is also developing a similar live shopping channel in China.
Flood is a former NFL Properties president who in his 10+ year tenure
with NFLP helped pump it up into a multi-million dollar business. After
leaving NFLP, Flood founded OldIron Sports & Entertainment in 1998. He
will be based in New York, along with director of licensing John Larney
and marketing manager Will Bishop. Among the XWF management team members
working out of Tampa will be Mike Lima, director of live arena events,
Janie Engle, Kevin Sullivan and costume designer Sandra Gray.
If this fed picks up, it will become a formitable rival wrestling promotion. Maybe then wrestling overall can get better ratings, attendance etc.

Is it associated in any way with the WWF or Titan Sports?

Is there a feud with Mcmahon and Okerlund?

PERRYNOID, Hogan is one of the financial backers and is at the forefront of the fed and its inception.

erinmoran, it is not in any relation, any shape or form related to the WWF. It will be another organization that will hopefully not fold and be real competition for once.

There is no real beef between Vnce and Meam Gene.

There's enough talent there for me to at least enjoy the under / midcard.

I HOPE Hogan keeps his word and lets the "younger" guys shine (although I'm sure he won't). I'd love to see some of the Low-Ki / Christopher Daniels matches on TV, but as it is we'll probably be treated to a Hacksaw Jim Duggan / Brutus Beefcake vs. The Nasty Boys feud.
