i'm just thinking about how i hear O&A terms used by some callers on R&F, but never the other way around. i'll hear someone call R&F the "b-b-boys", or people punch out, but i never hear a "see ya!" from a caller on O&A.

very strange to me.

and yes, i know the shows are separate entities. just sayin'.

I think I have heard a "Cya" on O&A at some point.

I occasionally hear a called during O&A throw out a Cya or a Buddayz. O&A themselves always make reference to R&F joking about the big ass prize closet and stuff like that

Yeah, I don't mind most of the stuff, but like stugots I really hate when callers use b-b-b-boys when calling the buddies.

I think some of the hayseeds make too much of a connection between the two shows.

I realy don't think this is an issue. Even a casual listener can tell the difference between the two shows - two very different identities - and that's all that really matters.

There are a few times I'll wince (I've especially never been a fan of the "b-b-b-boys" even on O&A), but i really do hate the abrupt hang-up after asking a question or getting off a bad joke, especially when Ron wants to follow up and have a conversation - although that might not be fair to lump them in as just "O&A callers." I don't know.

A habit of the callers of parroting any funny joke, or cool quip, Ron gets off also makes me cringe a bit, and that seemed to start last year with the whole "Miss Fez" thing, but that (I suppose) was around even in the WNEW days - just didn't seem as much.

(on a totally side note, in the last month, I've heard Mike of "Don and Mike" say "rubes" more than once - he's admitted to listening to Stern in the way past, and he's always been consistant with his praise for "Ron and Fez" - wouldn't surprise me if he still keeps up with them - this seems to be the word of 2007 all around).

All in all, tho, these things amount to next to no time taken away during a 30 hour R&F work week, and really are not a big problem with me.

It doesnt really bother me that much, but I wish the O&A callers would stick with Ron and Fez's bit.

O&A have more unemployed fans so they have more time to call in.

I think the problem is that the "Ron and Fez fans first" are much more easy going and care more about having the show be good (you dont see a whole lot of lieing callers). You can always tell when its an o&a fan when the caller makes it much more about himself and this is no shot on O&A because they admited after the hard rock that their fans are out of control animals compared to the R&F ones.

How about this one you brain surgeons -- O&A is on first. O&A fans listen to O&A, then leave on their radios for R&F. An R&F fan that isn't into O&A is much less likely to listen to 202 before noon.

It's called a fucking lead in.

I can't stand hearing it even on OnA, the worst is when the caller can't spit out the B's fast enough, buh-...buh-...buh-...boys..

ech.

Our Buddays usually don't say anything about it because they're as cool as the other side of the pillow, but it does start to annoy me.

I called Lazlow's show this Saturday and I didn't give him my Big ASS Card number, that's stupid. But to be honest, I stopped myself from doing it because it's like a call crutch for me now. I call, Ron says my name, I give him my number and then the call starts.

So maybe some O&A callers just do it because they start all their O&A calls like that and using their catch phrases just makes them feel comfortable.

Bah! O an A and RF are buddays, And so are the fans.. I love the camaraderie between shows... Ant shows up to all of our events, and it is very cool.. he is so nice to all of us also. He is not a elitist dick. He is a Buddy with a great big house. They do it for no one else.. And they have had nothing but good things to say about RF fans.. So i love it.. Its rare that two radio shows, click like RF and O an A do.

Lately I hear more Ron and Fez callers do the bbbbboys thing than O&A callers. I think its confused hayseeds that get budday and boys confused.

You should have heard all the idiots at WJFK, that would call up and say "Radio Gods" to R&F.

ron on atleast one occasion has said the bbboys was O&A's thing... i think it was the same night he ripped the caller who used the "sorry for bothering you at work...." line... and im glad he did because it was very funny the first time, and stupid the second, third etc...

but, i do agree that the r&f fan is in general a smarter/funnier fan... i think afternoon shows in general have smarter fans.... the biggest difference between the o&a show in '01 and '07 is the fans.. they have zero funny input from them, check the archives.... where am i going w/ this?? i really dont know

some of the bits that get started on this show are just buried in the ground by the fans. i cringe everytime someone calls and says, "Miss soundboard Fez" or whatever. Or the whole sorry to bother you at work gimmick. True...this has nothing to do with the topic at hand. but it is kinda gay when the o&a fans say punchin out or b-b-b-boys.

Actually heard Ron tell a caller to stop with the BUDDAYS thing a week or two ago saying...."This show doesn't need props."

My first or second call into the show was immediately after a "Radio Gods" person, and I got out a "Kings of All Media - Ron and Fez" and it broke them up. That at least ended within the first six months of them being exclusive on WJFK - it was never as big a thing as a radio phone crutch as it is now.
