Today, we ordered lunch from an Italian place. I sent my friend in to pick up the food, and told him if they had any cannolis to get me one. He came out and told me they had some and he got me one. So now, for the ride back to work, all I kept thinking was how delicious my dessert was going to be. There really is nothing better or anything I look forward to than a cannoli.

So when I get back to work, I sit down to enjoy my lunch, trying to make it through it as quickly as possible so I can enjoy the cannoli, when I look around and realize THERE'S NO CANNOLI!

I wanted to cry. How can they forget the cannoli? Luckily, I had some workers sitting around so I sent one of them to get it. But it got me to thinking, is there anything worse than missing food? Or hoped for food that isn't there? I've gone home craving a bowl of cereal, only to find there's no milk. My friend told me a story of how he went out to eat, ordered the prime rib, the waiter took the order, and then came back 5 minutes later to inform him that there was no prime rib. Just kick him in the balls next time, it'll be nicer.

Food disappointment is the worst.

I was in Puerto Rico a long time ago in a small town where there weren't many places to eat but we heard of this one place where we could get excellent lobster. Well I hadn't had a good lobster in a while and so I was very excited to get some, especially because it took a long time to find this place.

So we get there, sit down and "I'll have the lobster!"

"I'm sorry, we don't have any lobster today."

"Wh.. what? But... your reputation... your sign outside...."

"No lobster today. There was an accident on our lobster boat."

"An accident? What happened?"

"It blew up."

I had a burger.

I made other people go get it for me. I think that deserves an extra cannoli.

When i worked for Colgate from 83'-87' there were times I was a laborer and had to get the coffee order for over 25 people, 2 times a shift. Now we are talking about coffee made 10 different ways, burgers made 10 different ways, sandwiches, tea, hot chocolate, etc etc

It's basically what I did for the whole shift with a bit of cleanup work around the production lines. Once I got the orders and the money it was off to the Flamingo Diner at 2:30 and 5:30 in the morning. Naturally this was when the drunkards who were clubbing are now hitting the diner as well.

Anyway, alot of interesting times but there was always once in a while where I got back to work and the nicest lady on the shift is looking in the box and her coffee or tea was not there. Then I felt like shit! I would always walk back to the diner and get her what she was missing.

Then what i would do is before i went to the diner i would line the bottom of the box with soap products to give to the diner workers and I would get the whole order for free and just keep the coffee order money.
