I've been having this strange dream for years, and it seems to occur about once every 3 or 4 months.
Basically, it's a falling dream but in reverse. I start to float up into the air and can't stop, and the floating is always accompanied by a sick feeling in my stomach, kind of like what you experience on a roller coaster or something.
It occurs in one of two different places as well: either outside in the street or in my apartment. If it happens in my apartment I just sort of hit the ceiling and stop, and I'm able to crawl across the ceiling, but can't pull myself back to the ground by crawling down the wall or grabbing a counter or something and pulling myself back to the ground.
When it happens outside, I always end up grabbing a light pole to stop myself, and screaming for help, but there's never anyone around. I eventually lose my grip and float up into infinity.
A couple of nights ago I had a new variation of it: I was standing in the living room of my apartment, and my little black cat suddenly attacks me like she was a fucking lion or something, and I float into the air to get away. I hit the ceiling, and my cat is staring up at me, growling and attempting to swat at me.
I'm just curious if anyone else has any strange recurring dreams, or if anyone has any clue what the fuck this dream might possibly mean.

Hey. Well I'm definitley not an expert in this but I.ve had a lot of reccuring dreams.

Maybe there's something in your life you've always wanted to control but never could...
Maybe the celing stopping you because you feel a little more able in your home.. soemthing along those line...

i used to have reccuring train dreams... and I would always be going through the same places but i was always lost in each one. Even when i revisited a place i didn't realize till i woke up.

There were always people with me on the train.. I was rarely alone and when i was, it was because i was trying to meet up with somebody... I was farely often with my mom (she passed away a few years ago) and or a boyfriend...

when I met my current boyfriend, i had the train dream except something was dramatically different... my mom got off the train and said something to me then smiled ... and i sayed with my boyfriend until we got to our stop.

I never actually got off the train... i was either on a traqin or somewhere lost soon afterwards... i had actually gotten off in the right location this time.

I haven't hads the dream since.. and I've had these all my life.

I know.. a little sappy.lol.

i have the floating dream all the time. it will be a normal dream, then i will start drifting up to the ceiling and not be able to get back down. i have realized this while i was dreaming a few times and was able to start to control my dreams ala waking life. but i always start to concentrate too much and i end up waking up.

i used to have a recurring nightmare when i was a kid. i was in this endless space of huge boulders and jagged rocks. they all had a vevelt type coating on them and all edges were razor sharp. i would have to wander endlessly through these things, it really creeped me out. and i always woke up with an extremely sore throat, like i had swallowed some of the rocks. really bizarre.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has these dreams.

Usualy when I realize I'm dreaming, instead of trying to control it I just let it keep going to see what happens. They always seem to get really bizarre when I do this, and I find I can remember them better when I wake up.
