If these are the same guys, they robbed a bank right near me. Very, very violent bank robbers, which is very unusual.

Oh Yeah, Fat Did Forget That. He Also Forgot That The Hunterdon Democrat Runs Their "Who Has The Tallest Weed In The County" Contest In The Late Summer. That Too Is Big News.

I really don't understand why the FBI would have one officer conducting survellience on known bank robbers. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't it protocol for them to at least be in pairs out conducting investigations?
Anyway, the person who shot the FBI agent just ensured that the government will do whatever it takes to make sure he burns in hell.

Silly Sarah, didn't you ever see "Point Break"?
They said the shootout was with agentS, plural, so maybe there was multiple agents in the shootout, but one was actually killed.

Actually, no, they said solo surveillance. Weird.
Did the robbery actually happen, or were they casing the place?

Excuse me, tenbats......I never met a bank robber who wasn't hostile and violent...were you in law enforcement????

My "shoot first, question later" mentality made my chances of being a cop bad. All the credit in the world to them. And thoughts to the family of the slain FBI'er.

Statistically speaking, the majority of bank robbers attempt to avoid getting caught up in a shootout, even if they're armed.

The story also said swarms of police officers were immediately on top of the suspects and cought two of them.
Oh yeah, they'll find this guy. Unfortunately, in NJ we have the death penalty but the state Supreme Court over-turns every conviction. Unless there's video cameras around, I'm sure the suspect will "resist arrest".

No, People Out This Way Are All Pretty Much Car-People. But New York Is Pushing It's People This Way From The East, And Philly Is Pushing It's People This Way From The West, So The Area Is Growing And Changing And There Is Bound To Be More And More Crime.

I believe killing an FBI agent is a federal offense, hence SuperMax.

Fixed.
Reeshy, most bank robbers pass a note to the teller, get their money, and leave. Even the guys on the FBI Most Wanted List, the description of their crimes does not show the "Heat" or "Point Break" style of bank robberies that you see in the movies. It just doesn't happen anymore, unless the robbers are 1) stupid or 2) psychotically violent.
These guys have used active violence in the commission of at least two of their robberies. THAT is unusual.
They also knocked over a bank that is less than a mile away from a police station.

They will also not carry and/or show weapons, just say they have them, so if they are caught, they aren't classified with a more violent crime.

Ok, I was at the Dunkin Donuts near by getting a coffee when this went down. I have a few friends on some local law enforcement agancies and they have said that the FBI agent was following these guys for at least a year. The bank robbery was about to set off when they agent and some under covers made their move. The one animal ran across RT. 22 and began to fire. The other two were caught while the FBI agent was shot. They were like 20 feet from going inside the bank.

That's right, I didn't think about that. Also, I believe robbing a bank is a federal offense so that should take our compassionate jurists out of the equation.

While 35 robberies in an area isn't unusual (as the area has had 10 robberies in the past 2 months), 35 robberies by the same people in the same area is nearly unheard of. Most repeat bank robbers spread out over a large geographic area. These guys were very concentrated in just central jersey.
According to the FBI, these guys are suspected of four robberies.

WOW! If this is true, I can't even being to imagine how the agent who's gun misfired is feeling right now. What a crappy situation.
They are now saying the agent was killed by friendly fire, and the suspect is still on the loose...

Why do they call shit like this "FRiendly Fire"? No gun fire is friendly when it kills someone.
There is a press conference on right now.

It's a military term. I believe because the shot didn't come from an "enemy" but from a friendly source.
It's horrible for everyone when things like this happen.
