One of the big factors affecting the country is the economy. I am in finance so I keep up with it. It might not be as catchy as the rest of the news but it plays an important role. Everything about the economy affects all of us from what we pay to fill up our cars to what we pay on our credit cards and mortgages (if they are adjustable rates). CNBC has the best financial reporters. Kudlow and Company is the best show covering the world of finance and the economy.

So do you find that you align yourself more with Malthus, Solow or Romer?

The new job requires it. I've been studying a lot on retirement plans.

i actually keep up more with finance then I do with politics or really anything else. In the end, the financial world is what affects me and my family the most. Abortion, gay marriage and all that other shit means nothing to me if I wind up poor in retirement. I follow the stock market a lot, but housing information the most. in the last 2 years I have been obessed with housing, and actually go to the library once ever few weeks to get new books to read up on the fundementals.
