R&F are a national radio program and the morning drive time for the west coast. I almost never hear a caller from the west coast, and they seem to be under represented here on the board. The same I think is true of O&A.

Why do you think that is?

Westcoasters don't understand humor that has an Eastcoast edge to it. I've heard Jimmy say how Westcoast comedy clubs are alot different than in the East. I think its alittle too real for those Hollywood types.

i'd say the vast majority of their audience first heard them on traditional radio. these wouuld be ny, dc, and florida fans. heck, there's a good chance the majority of their listeners STILL don't have xm, now that their back on free-fm here in ny.

The Ron Fez scene is a little inpenetrable for us west coasters. The show didn't exist over here until XM, and it's not like XM is really pushing Ron and Fez. So most west coast listeners are fairly new, and everyone seems to hate new posters. Like Lleeder. But all you Wall Street types just get mad when you have to go to bed three hours early.

the main ammount of pull for xm 202 came from o and a

I first heard the show in DC in the 7-11 time slot on WJFK. Otherwise, I would have never heard of them out here. Sadly, Don & Mike rule 1340AM, the best station in Sacramento.

Jetdog, Winters?? These east coast city slickers have no idea how unhollywood Winters is. That's some flat, San Joaquin valley, almond grove real estate. What in God's name do you do there? I hope you dont commute into Sac or SF.

Winters! I give a big HELL YA for winters. My friends family owns an Almond Orchard in Winters. I've spent a ton of time in that town. Whats the bar? Elkhorn or something like that?

If you mean west coast as in west of the Rockies, here I am. Been listenin since Ron and Fez's first day on XM. Although I miss a lot of the show because of work, my wife thinks I'm OCD about how I listen on the weekends.

I've also called in and got on air 3 times.

My wife thinks I'm crazy cause a want to go to vacation in NYC only to visit the XM studios to meet the Buddays and the B-B-B-boys.

And ya, I kinda got her hooked on R&F also.

I am also the only one that I know of that has nailed the opening song and the great Admins from this site sent me a cool Whatley Posse t-shirt for that great accomplishment.

Yeah we fucking love it here, who's your freinds family? We live on a big Walnut and Almond orchard south of Putah Creek (Lester Farms), it's beautiful.
You're thinking of the Buckhorn, great restraunt/bar.

No, I commute to Davis. a beauitiful 20 min drive through the backroads, barely ever even see another car until I get into town.
Actually we're right in the foothills before you head up into Berryessa gap. The land we live on has the highest point in Winters, we can see the entire valleyfrom Esparto to Vacaville, it's a fucking blast on July 4th, we watch 7-8 different firwork shows at once!

Nice! Not too far from Napa/Sonoma either. Davis is a cool college town, I've done some work at the MIND Institute there...I'm east of Sac, in the Sierra foothills on the way to Tahoe. I notice you have Georgia on your mind, I lived/went to grad school in Athens. Another cool college town. I remember sitting in a bar listening with about 10 other people to a band called REM. Wonder whatever happened to them

We're too busy waxing our surfboards with an organic beeswax/yogurt compound to participate in the baffling complexities of East Coast humor. I avoid East Coast comedians in general, because I'm afraid of getting mugged. They also hurt my feelings with their constant use of the term "Hollyweird."

On the rare occasion I do listen to R&F, the show is usually drowned out by the squishy sounds of me chewing on my bean-sprout sandwich.

Even though I've been here for four years, I do realize I have fewer posts than folks who have been here for four months. That's because every post I serve is beechwood aged and slow-roasted with a light rub.

I live in Oregon (pronounced Ory-gun, not Ore-GONE) and I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. I can barely understand you people through your thick Joisey accents. What are you talking about? Pierogies?

What am I doing here?

Who's Ken from Portland?

I have to go turn my organic compost now.

Who?
Well anyway, coincidentally I'm moving to Athens next month.

By the way I disagreed with you in your "best college town thread" before I read your comments about Davis  .

Its so hard to listen to the show when we have this great place called California to explore. should I go to the beach today?
Maybe I want to go snowboarding?
Maybe I want to go wine tasting?
Maybe hiking in the desert?
Oh its all so much. I think I'll just waste the day again, cause everyday is just as beautiful as the previous here on the West Coast!

I'm near Sacramento. Ron and Fez have never been on AM/FM radio out here. I would listen to them after O&A, thanks to the old SU bunch. After they moved to JFK, I hardly heard about them at all...except the occasional reference Don and Mike made. I love that they are on XM now, but I don't get a lot of the old references or characters.

Oh, and it's warm and sunny here today. Neener.

Never been to San Diego but I've been to LA and hated it with a passion because of the horrendous traffic. If I wanted traffic, I can get it here in NYC.

Roseville is in Northern CA near Sacramento, very pretty area that stays warm all yr round. Their winter is fog, haha.

I dont know why there arent more west coasters. I love it here because ron and fez start at 9am, instead of lunch time.

and la has the worst traffic of all...even worse than NJ/NY. its mind boggling.

I worked in la for a while. 3 hour commute TO work, and 3 hour commute FROM work. also, it took me 5 hours to go 80 miles one time.
