I teared up a bit when FM Jeff asked Missy to marry him. I almost cried when Fez had his breakdown at WJFK.
So... anyone else a crybaby like me?
PS... I expect to be hearing from you in this thread, Bobo!

The closest I have ever come was Fez saying goodbye to Rory, which is really never brought up on air or on this board. They were on JFK during the goodbye, but it was one of the nicest and most heart-felt goodbyes I have ever heard, and you could hear the pain in Fez's voice. I also think that was the start to a lot of this panic and depression he has now.
The 2nd time i got a little emotional was a wierd one. it was Ronnie Yelling at the PD of WJFK for calling in and yelling at Fez. I think on some level it reminded me of what I would do for my family, and it showed me how close Ron anf Fez are.

most people will probably have something similar, but....the unofficial start of Weak Week, the friday beforehand when Fez first lost it. i was in arizona visiting the folks and listening alone on headphones, definitely started crying along a bit. also when i first heard Fez had a heart attack, before i knew if he'd be alright, that made the eyes a little damp.

I've never fully cried, but whenever Fez starts to breakdown on air I tend to tear up.
We all have gone through hard times, both physically and Mentally, and hearing someone as lloveable as Fez breakdown gets to me. Also, hearing the true friendship that Ron and Fez have is touching. When Fez is on the edge, the friendship surpasses the bit and you can tell how close of friend they really are. Thats the kind of stuff that puts R&F ahead of every other radio show.

Most recently was when I was @ XM for Fezzie's birthday & Ronnie announced Gail O's death. Talking about JimiMetal's kindness towards me when he was eulogized on the show. When I heard Elfish had relapsed, tho I'm glad he got sober again! I couldn't possibly name all the times, for me, a great deal of the beauty of the RnF show is their willingness to delve into the sheer humanity of a situation & not turn away, but dwell there & cultivate whatever feelings that may arise, which, a lotta times results in tears 4 me. As a rule, If Fezzie's crying, I'm crying too...

each end of the year right before Christmas, Ron and Fez pull out the ole - "have yourself a merry little christmas" song and end the show w/ some heart.

I can't place it exactly It may have been Weak Week but it was a midnight replay and I drove home at midnight. When Ronnie was talking Fez through his fears about the heart attack. I sat in my car for nearly an hour and a half as he talked quite poignantly to him about how he survived the attack. It was very touching.
Nothing has actually REALLY made me cry, but there were some close calls - leading up to weak week was a tough one - last summer, after the visit to the XM studios in DC, when Ron said, "We don't have fans - we have friends" - anytime I hear Fezzie upset and sad (except for the famous Birthday one a couple of years ago, which freaked me out more than anything) - when they talked with Gail in the hospital a year or so ago - the WJFK goodbye in general, with all of the nice things said towards their DC buddies - especially the WJFK good bye when Ron told Kathleen that he'll miss her "most of all scarecrow" - when they talked about Freda Sorce after her death, and Fez talked about how nice she had been to him - the Rory goodbye - much of the carry over emotion following 9-11 - and as Perry said, any end of the year Christmas show.

I did tear up a little On the fez Drinking show a few months ago. When He spoke of thinking if Ron had not been there for him... I have only been listening about 2 years I guess I have missed a lot..But I have a lot of fun to look forward to..The Board people i feel a weird closeness to.... And When I heard bobo on the phone a few weeks ago I did tear up from him pouring his heart out...Truthfully I have been in rehab for 30 days back in 1995 not for alcohol......But it just reminded me that no one on here is perfect....I just know if I get a chance to meet any of you someday??I wont cry, I will smile bigger than I ever have...JUG

More then a few times. When in studio for Paul calling in the news of Gail still sends a chill down my back when I think about it. I was looking at Ron, who was standing the entire time, and we were in the same kind of shock giggle mode. Then Tony got my attention and pointed at me to look at Fez, who was also in shock and held it together pretty well until Earl played a short montage of Gail. Well, the studio went from you could not hear a sound from anyone to sobs and some laughter through the sobs. It was at that point my eyes also filled up, looking at everyone in the room as well as Earl and the crew in the production room.

I'd definitely say the last day of week weak where Fez was drinking, especially where he talks about giving Ron the thumbs up as he was being wheeled away. Hearing about Jimi on the show was a definite downer, but what killed me was checking the board afterwards and seeing that picture with him and his daughters.
Does anyone have a link to Rory's farewell?

I have cried a bunch of times, during some 9/11 stuff, Fezzie's heart attack talk, last week with Gail O, and maybe one other sad instance that I can't remember, but I also remember being brought to tears of joy but I honestly can't recall what was going on in the show that made that one happen. I was probably drunk for the happy one. That would make more sense. Or not, can't remember.

Hey guys, I'm new here. I am a HUGE fan of Ron and Fez. I think they are all great and Ron is absolutely a comedic genius.
I'm starting my posts here because I think this is a great thread. I was wondering if you guys can direct me or share with me the audio to these moments as I'm a recent listener (FreeFM premiere and on). I've never heard most of what you guys are talking about (Fez break down, cry, etc. Those serious moments like Ron screaming and defending Fez or anything like that.) I'd LOVE to hear these.
Appreciate any help buddayyyys!

A lot of the Fez crying happens on the XM show so a lot of that can't be posted. But check out the file library for all sorts (mostly happy) of audio you've missed. I'll see if I can add to the list a little later, but here are a couple tearful moments people have mentioned:

That was a sad one. They knew the end was near, and didn't know if they'd be coming back from the break or not.

I literally get angry when "Satellite of Love" comes on every day. I just mumble out loud "Nooo." the people in the cube next to me just dont get it...
I always feel weird when they play a song other than Satellite of love to end the show, It makes me feel like we are really getting to see a little bit of real ronnie... which is always great
and nobody really mentioned Ron talking about his dad after the phillies... That had me taken-a-back.

I get emotional listening to that shit constantly.
I was listening to a show the other day on my lunchbreak from work. I happen to work near a state forest even though I live in boston, which is nice. I usually go up there for a walk at least once a week.
Anyways, I was up there, sun in my face, sitting at teh foot of a lake, right at the shore. I don't even think the content of the show mattered. Something about Ronnie's presence as a voice over the airwaves is sincerely comforting and unifying in it's effect on my conscious experience. And fez as the anchor of the average jerkoff who can't seem to get over anything.
I felt like we were all sort of in the same boat. All beautiful, arrogant, confused, weak, and insane, totally adrift in our own currents, but one in the same. That's the feeling this show always gives me.
It's not about specific bits or laughs or characters, it's about the positivity of the mood. The acknowledgement of tragic sorrow, and the infectious bounceback that ensues thereafter. And on and on. I clearly am babbling drunkenly (and I assure you I AM drunk.).
The point is that the presence of the show in my life takes me to a highly emotional level because it instills lasting philosophical concepts that are permanantly branded with a laugh. How many insanely intense things have Ronnie knocked down to size with a few well timed words? It breaks down that massive wall of mortality.
Shit, still babbling drunk. The previous attempt to steer my words has failed and I have similarly low hopes for this one:
...the show, in the right moment, can really fill me, SOMEHOW, with an appreciation for being alive, and those times where I've really felt a tug on my heartstrings; when I've really felt deeply in touch with life and my world, those are the times that I have shed tears.
Once or twice it has been while listening to the show.
I'm not going to act like I'm not a fucking lunatic, but combined with the right sunset, the right reflection of light off a fleet of cars floating on their concrete sea, the perfect millisecond of silence between the transmission and the receipt of a bit by a modem in the exact second that a wolf howls at a full moon while all of humanity sighs at once, it's an unstoppable emotional force.
