Crowds gathered in Moscow and in St Petersburg to protest Putin. Many protesters were arrested and beaten. There have been fears that Russia will go back to the days of communism. After all Putin is a former KGB agent

I don't think the fears are of a return to Communism per say, at least not as a political and economic system. Communism simply doesn't work, which is why the Soviet Union collapsed in the first place and China has embraced free-market economics. I think the fears are of a return to an oppresive authoritarian regime, but not Communism.

there economics did. they are an open free enterprise society now. at least they say they are anyway. like i said, its the same game just with a different name.
