I really think that "Atoms, Motion & the Void" would fit in well on the Public Radio airwaves and so I was totally shocked when they announced their talent search contest.

If you've listened to AMV and want to hear it on Public Radio please click (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/219) and vote...

We can do this the hard way...or we can do it the Sanjaya way...!!!

My thanks to you...:)

Done and it only took me two tries to get the math question. How embarassing.

If they don't take you and TiNR gets to stay on the air, we should find a place in the schedule for this.

Done. And since I actually give some money to NPR (well WNYC) I'm sure my vote will count.

I especially liked the character Sleeves did towards the middle of his submission. Man, that "Sean" voice really gave me the creeps! Good work Sleeves.

Yeah I liked that too, to be able to come up with a crazy voice like that, just out of the blue, what talent. Could you imagine if a guy like that "Sean" really existed, what a topsy turvy world that would be!

just dont forget the important bit is 'rating' his entry by pulling up the 5 stars

as far as i can see the comments alone will not matter in the final decision.

Little Update:

The public radio show "Weekend America" did a story on the Talent Quest (http://www.radioghost.com/uploads/prtqclip.mp3)...as part of the story they featured 4 sample entries from the contest, including mine...yay! Very cool.

This is the kind of exposure that makes me feel more nervous rather than less...

I cut the story out -it's four minutes and my part is at the end...

I think the voting ends on June 2nd or 4th and then during that week they'll pick a top 10.

9 of the top 10 will be selected by the judges and one will be by popular vote...

The top 10 then start wacking away at each other until September, when a top 3 is announced. And then each of those 3 gets some money and the opportunity to put a show concept together with the help of a production team...and their show gets pitched to the NPR people.

I'm trying not to think about it.

Today is the Last Day to Vote in the Talent Quest!

The judges have already secretly selected their Top 9 and the public vote, which ends tonight at midnight, will help select the 10th finalist.

Vote for Badinia! (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/417)

Vote for Sleeves! (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/219)

Thanks to everyone for taking time to register and vote!

Yesterday was "announcement" day for the Talent Quest...

Sadly, I will not be heard on the public radio airwaves...

But thanks to all your help I did make the top 100 in the popular vote (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/2257) and the top hundred in the judges vote (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/2258).

I was totally blown away by all the support I got from the R&F community. It meant a lot to me. Thank you very much! :)

Now back to my depression...(last night bad, today much better)

I am outraged!!! Why hasn't P.A.C. gotten involved in this issue?!?!? I believe there is foul play at work here ladies and gentlemen... Foul play of the worst kind!!!

And then I forgot all about it and went back to my happy little life...whittling tiny little matches out of bigger matches...

And now here's my reminder! And I'm pissed all over again!!!!!!

Those Ira Glass needin, Bob Edwards Firin sons of gum! Bunch of gum sons!

Thank you for your outrage.

I think this post seems drunk. I am very sober right now. But I did eat a lot of candy (spice drops).

I'm sure it will go to someone who tells quirky but affectionate stories about their family and/or place of employment. There's a lack of those on NPR at this time.

I want to dislike the 10 people they picked...and I did spend a few minutes figuring out how terrible they all were. But when I calmed down and went back and listened to their things, I thought they were pretty good.

I don't think NPR wants a fictional guy...they want a next-door neighbor kind of person who happens to be somehow riveting in a neighborly sort of way...

I think they'll come up with something good with this...even though I wish them black death. :)
