It really depends on you. How you're feeling now.

I would probably feel it was too soon, but it's up to you man.

I've never been without a pet either. A new one will help you get over the last one. Go for it.

Reeshy, I apologize for what I'm about to write...

Did you go out looking for the dog? Did you bother calling the dog?

Did you try getting out there and yelling "Tommy? Tommy Can you hear me? Tommy?"

I'm sorry for your loss Reeshy, I just had to give away my boxer and when they are gone you have a hole that is hard to fill. It's just not the same without our lttle companions.

Dogs are so special to man, If you feel like you can accept another dog and give it the same love you gave the last one then you are ready.

Only you know when it's time...and when it is, you'll know.

I would keep looking for the dog. There's an emotional attachment that comes with owning a dog.

I say go for it. It may seem too soon, but as soon as a new pooch starts showing you love, you won't regret it.

I'd say to wait... I had to put my lab down,, dam hardest thing I ever did,12 great years together.I went 4 months without and did'nt want another dog for many reasons, then found,or did he find me? this starving pitbull with just a rope around his neck and too weak to stand up for too long in the Walmart parking lot. That was 3 years ago, now after we take a walk everyday, when we get back to the front yard we race to the mailbox to check the mail, I always win cauuse I cheat and throw a stick or something. So I say wait, give it time ,sorry about your loss, good luck with your search...

Hey Reesh - what about Friday's kitties? (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=58174) Solve two problems at once.

supposedly man and dog have been friends/partners since fire was discovered. Dogs/Man discovered it was more efficient to hunt together. Dogs are awesome. My chic got sad the other day cause ours are 6 years old, and she said "we only have another 6-7 with them.. " and proceeded to blubber. I just hug 'em. spoil 'em. play with 'em. Strangely never had the urge to have them lick my genitals tho.

I say go for it, adopt a doggie. So many are in bad homes with hayseed fucks that don't have respect for them, its sad. They are a member of your family.

I lost my dog 2 years ago. The only reason I dont have one yet is because of my twins. I think I'll be adopting one soon though, I say go get one.

NO! Whenever you're ready, do it. The one you really want may be gone by the time you decide. And no dog deserves to be in a shelter for a day longer than it has to be there.
Plus you're opening up a spot for another dog, who would have been euthanized. Thousands of dogs are put down daily for lack of space in the shelter networks.

From Wikipedia
According to the American Humane Association, an estimated 9.6 million animals are euthanized in the United States every year. The majority of these are euthanized at animal shelters

Thats about 36,000 per day. Go now.
