I heard the tape, and besides him calling her names, I didnt see anything wrong with it. He was apparently upset over a custody battle with his ex; imagine being told you can only talk to your daughter on certain days at certain times, and then when you call...she doesnt pick up!

What I think is weird is Kim Bassinger's decision to release the tape, hoping to hurt Alec, but knowing full well that her daughter would be the one most hurt by it.

Thats exactly what I thought. I have trouble judging someone's personal relationships at all, much less from 2000 miles away. She could be a real handful, and he was having a rough day. I'm no fan of Baldwin, I think he's an arrogant schmuck. But I'm not gonna kill him for this, or his daughter. I really don't know (or care) enough about either of them.

I also wonder how many of those people also decry the loss of "discipline" in parenting and rail about how parents should hold children "responsible" for their own actions.
