Why the hell do we eat peanuts if they can't be digested?

You can make your own conclusions as to what I was just doing to bring up this question.

All legumes, like peanuts are digested albeit very slowly. They are high in nutritional content (but very fattening).

Corn is also digested but the vast majority (I seem to recall the figure of about 75%) simply passes through the digestive tract.

It really helps to chew the corn thoroughly.

The nutritional value of corn is also high when mashed or made into a bread or meal. Corn has been a staple of humans for many thousands of years. However, the nutritional content is not sufficient to live on. Other foods must be eaten in addition

Yes Gwen...
They are so damn tasty...I really have become addicted to the street cart peanuts...but I eat them while I am walking quickly...so I figure that equals out the high fat content...
1 dollar for such a tasty treat...New York RULES!!!

I also started eating the dollar hot dogs....and now I have developed a strange twitch...

some people are also very alllergic to peanuts and they are also SO fattening. So I have no idea why people eat them except for the fact that they find them tasty.
