...i just can't get a new car and not fuck with it.

I think i'm going to do the lambo doors on the PT Cruiser. (90 degree lift, not the gullwings). I needs any helpity help help info i can get. Specifically getting them on without loosing door alignment.

I'm tinting the windows out. But i'm sure i can look up those places. Can anyone reccomend a place?

I'm traditionally replacing the shift knob (automatic skull of doom). it's the push button on top. I got a replacement but the set screw holes (gigdity gigdity gigdity) aren't matching up (new knob hole higher than shift shaft hole). Er, it's a 'universal automatic shift knob-push button top', but it doesn't seem very universal concerning my car unless i'm doing something wrong or there is a way to adjust the inner shaft height. help?

door pin grommets/rings. where the hell do you get theses (chrome or rubber at this point). I am replacing the door pin locks, but the new door pins are a smaller circumference than the hole in door, thusly the unsightly look of a hole in the door..... Advanced Auto parts just said 'go to your dealer'. This isnt a standard item in the car, thusly it isn't something that a dealer will have on hand. I've tried looking online, but only found catalogs with a similar item (for ford trucks), but nothing for my car. I just need something that will line/rim a half inch hole.....

Das all. This weekend i'll merrily be laying out monster cable and getting my subs in.

Convertible or Coupe? Lambo doors are a nightmare in general... if you've never had them make sure you do a lot of research to decide whether or not you want to deal with the unending hassle that they are.

save the money and do not get them. they are a huge pain in the ass and in a few years they will not close properly as the hinges and pins sag.

as a rule, you should always wait 6-10 months before doing any major mods on your car. the reason is because right now you are so excited about the new car thing, but in a few months it will just be another car you own, and you will not want to drop all this cash on it.

i've helped two friends put them in honda civics, but those doors are lighter, smaller and not as complicated looking as the pt doors (hard top, so i have 4 doors).

After reading the reply, i am recalling the door sag and constant realignment and hardware replacement. Probably won't do lambo doors.....

Especially considering the shall we say less than ideal body gaps that american cars have stock it sounds like a nightmare.

What's wrong with dropping money on a car to make it....better in personal opinion? lol. Thank goodness i didn't post my idea to get a gattling gun attached to the undercarriage to take out tailgaters engine blocks.

I agree, the lambo doors are a not so good idea considering the weight of the door alone and the frequent use not to mention loss of alignment if you can achieve to begin with.

Tint and subs aren't a option though. no sir.

tints and subs are fine, subs can be taken back out. and tints are cheap enough. but doing things like expensive rims, or custom doors or paint, i have found that spending the money while still on the euphoric high of the new car purchase sometimes leads to regrets down the line.
