I'm searching for a really good chocolatier or a website for ordering rich fine chocolates in the class I guess of Godiva for a gift. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The first two are belgium. I think neuhaus is the more famous one.
The third is french. It's really expensive, because i'm pretty sure they ship the chocolates straight from france rather than make them in the US.
The last two are swiss. Teushcer is known for their truffles, specifically their champagne truffles. Lindt is pretty good, and you can find them almost anywhere.
edit:
Here's a list of some NYC boutique chocolate places

Some of them look pretty cool.

love leonidas. used to get them from the hotel i worked at for my wife. the only reason i came into this thread was to put up a link for la maison du chocolat. never personally had them, but i've heard they're the best out there.

leonidas is probably the best chocolate i have ever had. i spent a summer in belgium and was stopping in the leonidas in the town all the time to get more. i tried a bunch of places when i was there but always ended up going back to leonidas. fantastic stuff.
Hanna Krause. (http://www.hannakrausecandy.com/) I don't know if she's still alive, but she was old when my dad used to take me to her shop when I was a kid.
Authentic German chocolate...top notch.

9th Annual? Holey shit, I went to the first one and it feels like yesterday.
Teucher is top notch, maison is as well, but they're also very expensive. I'd go to Jaques Torres place in Brooklyn Heights if you can, its a big factory and alot of fun. Right off the BQE exit for the Brooklyn Bridge, easy to get to. Take Amy with you, buy some chocolates and then go walk the Brooklyn Heights promenade. Best view of Manhattan anywhwere. If it's too far away, just go to his retail shop on Hudson Street (A few blocks off Canal Street from the Holland Tuinnel). Great stuff, cant go wrong with Jaques.
