Excelsior!!!! (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1720024.ece)

Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake.

Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period.

Since there is no known life on Mars it suggests rapid changes in planetary climates could be natural phenomena.

The mechanism at work on Mars appears, however, to be different from that on Earth. One of the researchers, Lori Fenton, believes variations in radiation and temperature across the surface of the Red Planet are generating strong winds.

Climate change IS natural. That's not in dispute.

I blame Dr. Manhattan.

Drive home your new Mars Land Rover today (http://fairflyer.wordpress.com/2007/01/18/drive-home-your-new-mars-land-rover-today-or-soon/)

Maybe the mars rover caused it.

Well, we all know that NASA isn't a scientific organization. It's a tool of "Big Oil', and cannot be trusted for data like this, not as much independent thinkers like Al Gore can.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to put my tin foil hat on and look for aliens.

Yeah like it says the atmosphere, and hence planetary atmospheric physics/meteorology will be completely and utterly different. The atmosphere is the tiniest fraction of the density of Earth's, there is little/no ozone, hence the huge UV flux that we think fries/fried any life as we know it from existing on the surface. I think the warmest it gets on the surface is about 30 below, if that.

And wow the Martian weather. Planet sized storms. The first missions to Mars, Mariner I think, recorded dust storms with winds that i think approached the speed of sound, and enveloped the entire planet.

That's a whole lot different from Earth.

Please, please, PLEASE tell me you're trying to spin this off into a "mankind definitely isn't accelerating global warming on Earth" deal. Please. And that you didn't just use Al Gore as if he's somehow the inventor of that idea. Please. Because both would absurd and insulting. To yourself.

I mean, you did read the last paragraph he quoted, right?

All I know is its still cold in NY and I was promised global warming by Gore! Just another liberal lie!

I think I will throw another tire on the fire and pour some used motor oil in my stream, all that work should warm me up anyways!

You global warming deniers are like the Washington Generals of politics, except that the Washington Generals actually got paid to lose.
