The immigration debate

May 1st there were marches and protests for and against illegal immigration. The numbers for pro illegal immigration were down alot from last year. Tonight Lou Dobbs is hosting a special from Hazleton, PA. Over the past few weeks there has been a court case against Hazleton for enforcing federal immigration laws. In a couple of weeks Congress is going to come up with a "comprehensive immigration reform" plan. I have a feeling it will be at a standstill again with nothing being passed

Are you the new Jack Handy? Every time you get a thought about a major political subject you start a thread on it. No links to relevent articles, no searching for past discussions of it, just: "Hmmm. This thought of mine needs it's own thread so that it may live on forever and ever."

This isn't a political criticism, it's an etiquette thing. Why do we have to rehash the same arguments in a fresh thread?

No wonder I couldn't find the rally yesterday when I was done at the House offices. Apparently there wasn't one in DC? I did find a bible reading on the lawn at the Capitol that nobody listened to. I have pictures of the stage with the guy reading at a podium with huge speakers on each side and about 200 empty folding chairs.

This has become a very heated debate. There was legislation passed in the house to make it a felony for companies to hire illegals, but the democrats in the senate are threatening to filibuster. The president is pushing a guest worker program, but republicans on the hill are against it. There really isnt a simple solution to this, there are estimates that between 10-20 million people here are illegally, theres no way the feds can boot all of them out. Some say build a wall but i really dont think that will solve it either, this thing has been dragging on and both sides really dont have a plan that works

Sorry. I didn't know this was an annual event: Immigrants protest... WRESTLINGFAN ponders in a new linkless and redundant thread. I like it. Might I suggest a gimmick to make this event catch on though? Like green beer, or hiding colored eggs.

Yerdaddy is the thread police of RF.Net Maybe he might have done a better job than Gerorge Tenet if he was running the CIA. Congrats Yerdaddy great job of gathering old posts and threads. Maybe you can find out what happens to socks when they get lost when doing laundry. or if Santa Claus really exists. Well since you monitor these boards, next time theres a new Iraq Thread or abiut the 08 election since theres alot of them already, why don't you make some fucking comment about that. Every thread or comment I post it gets your panties in a bunch.

Well, we TRY to avoid excessive duplicate threads everywhere on the board. Nobody's saying WRESTLINGFAN can't point post his thoughts on issues...we're just questioning the need for a whole new thread when all he's really doing is tossing his general opinion out there without any kind of link to a specific news story that merits a new thread. WF, if you can try to hold off on the duplicate threads I'd appreciate it. If you've got a specific news story, by all means, start it up, but seeing as we have multiple threads on the topic where you can express your general opinions or ask questions of others, please use those. Thanks.
