I really have to wonder what this guy was thinking. This is the equivalent of an internet flame war gone really, really bad.

Jersey Guys pulled off the air; NJ State Police threatens and extorts (http://news.radio-online.com/cgi-bin/$rol.exe/headline_id=n16504)

In a nutshell, because Carton & Rossi found out some sensitive information posted on an official State Police website, and talked about it, this douchebag puts out Carton's address and plate number.

Wow! Before Fat Got Xm, He Listened To These Guys All The Time, And Their Predecessors, Daminsky And Doyle.

It Looks Like The Station Issued A VERY STRONG Statement Of Support And Said They Won't Be Bullied By The Police.

Mojo, When The Cops Are Intimidating People, Is That A First Amendment Issue?!?!?!

Go NJ 101.5 !!!

Depends. Did you yell obscene language after you did it?

Here's what I don't get... The police are supposed to PROTECT people. Considering how polarizing Craig Carton is, Davey Jones just wrote carte blanche for some crazy to go after Craig and his kids. It's absolutely fucking mindboggling that he'd do this.

F_S Moved To NJ In 1985 And Within 3 Months Of Moving Here He Noticed Something Very Disturbing: That Every Car Pulled Over By The State Police On Route 80 Contained One Or More Black People.

At First He Thought It Was A Coincidence, But After Several More Months He Saw A Clear Pattern: The State Police Were Targeting Blacks. Not Just Black Teenagers, But Black Grandmothers.

Fat Wrote A Letter To The Editor Of The Bergen Record About This In 1986, But They Never Published It.

Fat Has Zero Fondness For The NJ State Police.

wow we agree on something, but I will go a even further. Im not fond of most cops. Before you people go crazy my dad, uncle and grandfather were cops. This was before the Unions got crazy contracts in the 90's. Cops work 4 days on 4 days off, most use their badge like a do what you want anytime you want free card. They use the badge for discounts, to move up in lines/ cut lines. They talk down to people. They act like the biggest jerk offs and then use the badge whenever it suits them. The worst of it all is that a cop can make 100K + a year plus overtime and retire after 25 years with a huge pention and full health care the rest of their lives (NJ cops do). No wonder we have such high property taxes in NJ govt jobs way overpay people, mostly cops.

great find.

Those posts that the "police officers" posted are proof why most people dont trust the police. Whats that saying "Absolout power corrupts absoloutly" or something like that.

I don't see any fault with the troopers posting stuff like "let's crush 'em" and "it's go time". That is just the equivalent of locker room talk. You get any bunch of guys in ANY profession in one place long enough you'll see how anyone not in their "circle" of trade is an outsider and they don't understand. The same talk goes on when you have a bunch of diswashers that get together.

But, if there is a ticket blitz, which isn't out of the normal in the first place, I think the public SHOULD know about it. It'll make people slow down, be a bit more cautious, and that is good for everybody.

Yes, there are a few dickhead cops, as there are everywhere. But a majority of them are good people, family men, who enjoy helping others out and doing thier job.

NJ101.5's management immediately, and unconditionally, backed their on air talent. NJ101.5 isn't owned by CBS.

Is there a connection between the two previous sentences?

Millennium Broadcasting is a small, privately-owned broadcasting company that keeps its station portfolio small.

CBS Radio is a large company that has shareholders to answer to.

locker room talk is fine but not when the other team has guns or just might be a bit looney.

Exactly, that's my point. Government created this mess by allowing a few companies to control most of the radio stations in the country. Big corporations have a lot of weenies who are more concerned about not making waves rather than standing behind it's talent.

Millennium did the right thing and it will probably get more listeners as an added bonus.
