I really can't accept O&A's rant about not knowing what they can say or not.

They claimed they knew what they were doing when they came to FreeFM. They wanted to go back to terrestrial even when there was tighter constraints and now they are complaining that they are being dropped by stations during vacation and that they are unsure of what they can say.

They now also are bragging about how they still have XM.

Gee... perhaps they should have appreciated it more in the first place.

Dude, get off of it. They walked back into a bigger s@#$ storm than they walked out of.

This is a whole new ball of wax - it's no longer about violating FCC regulations, it's about not pissing off the wrong people. Unfortunately, it is tremendously difficult to avoid pissing people off these days; someone is always bound to be pissed off about something.

In other words, they could follow the rules of law and put on a legal show, but somebody or some group doesn't like what they say and they can be fired anyway. That's a hell of a pendulum to have hanging over your head.

Well, I have to update my opinion about the "being taken off during vacation" thing. what do they expect?

Who takes 2 weeks off anymore? Plus, if O&A are on the borderline of getting fired (by their own admission), why not try a new show that could replace them when they go.

I love O&A and always listen on XM, so as long as they are on XM I am cool. However, they picked a crappy time to take an uber-long vacation.

As for the language aspect, they are completely right. The rules are being made up after the fact, so there is no way to prepare or know what is coming. If you want an edgy show, you are obviously a hair's breadth away from getting fired.

They should be vocal about the language issues because this is a Free Speech problem - the more light you shed on the problem the better the chance people will not stand for it.
On the other hand, it would be cool if they DIDN'T complain about it and just kicked ass every day. Maybe then their detractors would back off.

Just to clarify...that's what I think would happen in the event CBS decides to can O&A. However, I don't expect that to happen. There's a good chance that CBS doesn't do anything, since the homeless guy did his rant on XM.

It started when former O&A producer, Psycho Mark, used it as his last words on the air after being fired for allowing a couple to have sex on the boss' couch during an earlier Sex for Sam competition. O&A then used it when they believed they were being booted from WNEW. It kind of became pretty well known at that point, and R&F used it a number of times on WJFK when they thought they might have their last show. When they were given an official last show by management, they signed off with a group "your mom's box" featuring most of the DC regulars (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2889).

That's one of my favorite clips. Because it meant I could listen to the Buddays without going to the newsgroups... I hope I don't hear that phrase again soon!

Mikeyboy, did psycho mark come back after that, I know there was 3 sex for sams right. Didn't he put up the sign when the c-bomb on it or was that before he got fired?
