Federal investigators last night arrested six Islamic radicals who were planning a heavily armed attack against soldiers at Fort Dix as part of a jihad against America, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.




I wonder how close they came to actually pulling this off, and I wonder how many soldiers they would have killed. I doubt the soldiers stationed in NJ are as aware as the ones in Iraq.

Six men vs. a military base? Unless these guys are CTU field agents + GI Joe + Ninjas rolled into one and armed with a crapload of explosives, I don't think they would have made "much" damage. I mean, they probably would have killed a few people, but as soon as the first "attack" was made, that entire base would be on alert.

And although any loss of a human being's life or a soldier's life is a shame, I don't think these guys were as well-planned as the 9/11 hijackers.

Nah. Don't think so. No surge whatsoever will come of this. It takes spilled blood to make us feel that surge. Not almost spilled blood. We're ungrateful as a species, and don't really equate potential loss with real loss...so the concept of danger isn't so great if they're stopped before they do anything.

And radical fundamentalists, pretty much the country agrees, need to be fought and destroyed before they can attack civillians in any country again.
