View Full Version : People Against Censorship Protest this Saturday

Stugots already posted a thread about peopleagainstcensorship.com (http://www.peopleagainstcensorship.com) (as he said, sign up), I think this is important enough to warrant its own thread. We need to stand up to special interest groups using their clout against the likes of Imus, JV & Elvis and now O&A. There's no way to predict how far their reach will be if people don't speak up.

This Saturday, 12 Noon, Union Square
14th And Broadway
Come And Be Heard
Make The Press Take Notice Of Us
Come Support Free Speech
And Oppose Special Interest Groups Trying To Control Media
Oppose Over Sensitivity
Oppose Letting Other People Dictate What Is Comedy
Fuck Censorship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE REPOST THIS INFORMATION ON ANY BOARD YOU HAVE ACCESS TO, AND ON YOUR MYSPACE BULLITENS AND IN MYSPACE COMMENTS
I highly recommend showing up if you are in the area. If there is any possibility that this will have an impact, there needs to be a large show if support. I would be there if I wasn't going to be out of town.

Got any placards I can put on my delivery car? Maybe I'll just stand alone on a corner and shout. Sucks being down here where nobody listens.

Next thing ya know a certian young radio host will lose her internet radio show for her comments about pre teen asian gangs.

I think i'll show up. If nothing else to get a ronnybrook yogurt drink at the farmers market.
The OnA thing with the homeless dude is so blown out of proportion. It's getting pretty ridiculous that the media has essential become the hall monitors and tattle tales of the world. Everytime I read a news story about how they want everyone censored, I think about that scene from x-men.
Magneto: Let them pass that law and they'll have you in chains with a number burned into your forehead.
I guess we're the mutants of the world. Oh well. could be worse.

or another will lose his spot due to his name insulting Italian Americans.

i got in a little while ago from the rally. I think it was a very good turn out. HTG, Mike Kaka and The Guys from Cypher Productions (Dean & Franklyn) should be proud with the turn out. They also should be commended for devoting so much of their free time to a just cause. if you havent already, please sign up. If you can, please come to the next one.

It was a great pleasure & honor to see you out there today Mr. Gots as well as The Handsome Ralphbxny. What a very large turn out for such an important cause. Mrs. Typing Girl is indeed the perfect Phace for this worthy cause. Please keep up the good work.

I just got back from the rally. It was pretty cool. I counted 85 people that came, but there could have been some more that I missed. that was a pretty damn good showing I think.
A ton of flyers were handed out, and a few arguments were had. One guy went nuts and they were running after him arguing, filming the whole thing. Some pretty funny stuff.
Earl, dave, and ron all came by to show their support as well.
In all honesty, it's a small step, but a very important one, in hopefully winning our freedoms back.

I got in about 7 sunburned but feeling like I made a difference. I had to say it was great meeting you guys and seeing the new faces and meeting old ones. HTG, Dean, Franklin and the stylish Mike Kaka were great and helped focus us. I hope this was one of the first step to getting our voice herd and protecting our Shows!!
Next time out we need to get more R&F peeps out!
Also we need a chant. The Dog house chanting was getting to me.
Hope everyone is having fun at F.H. Reilly's!

This is the basic theme of the movie "Thank You For Smoking"....
in a way it reminds me of what we are going through in todays world
During the film you hear several times that "there is no scientific proof against cigarettes". On The Charlie Rose Show, Reitman described it as a film with a libertarian message.[5] This message is crystallized in the movie when the Senator asks Nick whether he would let Joey smoke when Joey reaches the age of consent, to which Nick replies that he would buy Joey his first pack on Joey's 18th birthday if the boy wanted a cigarette; this captures the libertarian idea of freedom to endanger one's own body, as long as the person is fully informed/educated of all the dangers
