Since last night's revelation that our very own Joe Poo is related somehow to Olympic Gold medalist, Kur... I mean Tara Lapinski, I started to wonder if anyone is related to anyone famous?

I am not but there is bound to be someone here that does. Just a thought.

I'm related to John Audubon (the bird guy) and I did some research last year which traces back on my mom's father's side to King Charles I of England. Wow...

Well, it depends on your
definition of famous, I
guess.
My grandfather is kinda cool
if you're into chemistry
http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/JCEWWW/Features/eChemists/Bios/Nakanishi.html
and he was like the
first guy to study gingko
biloba if you're into that
homeopathic stuff.
If you're into immunology,
my dad's pretty famous I
guess
http://www4.nationalacademies.org/nas/naspub.nsf/b164a62dd68b8a8a852566dd005a3f8a/d22c6b54d51ade88852569df006f096e?OpenDocument

and
he's done some neat stuff.
Natsume Soseki is the
dude that is on
the 1000 yen bill in japan
and is my grandmother's
grand uncle (or something
like that ) not so close I
guess but whatever.

Nobody cool like King
Charles and Audubon
though - that's awesome!!

My cousin is a TV actor, Robert Clohessy. You can look up his filmography at IMDB.com.

He was on the last season of HillStreet Blues. He co-starred with Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) is Oharah. He has had numerous appearance on Homicide, Law and Order and is currently working as a gaurd on OZ. Infact I just watched him on TV, last night.

I haven't spoken to him in about 6 years and I would have to remind him of who I was, but it's still cool to see him on TV every once and again.

...I tell you what I'd do man, two chicks at the same time man. Damn straight, I always wanted to do that, and I think if I was a millionaire I could hook that up too, 'cuz chicks dig a dude with money...well, the type a chick that'll double up on a dude like me do.

I am not related to anyone famous but I know a guy who has been a few famous movies and shows. His name is John O' Donahuge and he went to school with my father and is fairly close with us...he tells us all the time what projects he is going to be in. His most recent one was the "Family Man" with Nick Cage. He played the doorman in the building rich Nick lived in...he was also a star with Andy Dick on the Ben Stiller show.

I'm not good with genealogy. Some of my family members claim that, on my mother's side, I'm descended from Francis Scott Key (the man who wrote the Star Spangled Banner), but I don't think that's confirmed.

What I do know is true is not really that famous, but more historic. On my father's side, I have ancestors who helped draft / sign the Magna Carta. Maybe that's not as cool as having A.J. Benza as a cousin, but I like to think it has significance. ;)

Although I can't "prove" it, I'd like to think that I'm somehow related to Bruce Kulick, former guitarist for KISS. This is how our name was spelled before my Grandfather, for whatever reason, changed the spelling of it. There really aren't a lot of us "Kulicks" around. That would be AWESOME!

Irish, wasn't JPS the guy who wrote "Liberty Bell"? The song Monty Python used for the intro to the Flying Circus skits.

My mother's maiden name was Rothschild. We are descended from the famed European family. Alas, I am not going to inherit any vineyards, banks, or large fortunes. Our branch of the family was disowned when they came to America before WWI.

My father appears in the non-fiction book, "Murder At The Harlem Mosque" which was written by Sonny Grosso and based on the death of his partner, Off. Phil Cardillo. Grosso, along with Randy Jergenson(?) were cops with my dad and wrote "The French Connection" which was also based on truth.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you all !!

My mom and her family are originally from Liverpool. Ringo Starr's first wife was my grandmother's cousin. They got divorced though and both she and my grandmother are dead now. I guess that negates any relationship now though.
