Does anyone here watch this show?

This week's episode is about Mt Rushmore and blind patriotism. They had some random old lady say, "I'm all for people having the free speech, but in the proper place in the proper time." Shit like this boggles my mind.

It also always amazes me when these idiots allow themselves to get filmed on the show. I'm guessing no one realizes how dumb they are.

I was always interested in catching this show but I don't have any pay channels on the cable system in my house so I already know I don't have it.

Thank God for the internet!

I go way back with Penn and Teller First saw them on SNL and then their off Broadway magic act. I saw them a few years back when I was at a convention in Las Veags they do a show @ the Rio Casino. They hvent lost a step in 20 years. You can actually talk to Teller after their show which is kind of funny.
I like Bullshit they skewer some fun stuff poking a hole in a bunch of things. But some of the stuff I scratch my head at. They spent a whole show trying to convince me of the economic benefits of WalMart which I don't get
But over all I like the show i tiVo it every week

its a fairly decent show, sometimes they focus on topics and opinions i dont neccessarily agree with because they dont make sense to me (like the wal-mart episode stated above). but other times im totally captivated by the show, they had one episode where they broke down the whole concept of AA and why it was total bullshit. very cool episode.

The off-braodway show ruled, I liked the 'Casey at the Bat' reading by Penn trick.

The episode you refer to above isnt about the benefits of WalMart as much as countering many of the negeative claims that have been heaped on WalMart. Most simply aren't true.

An awesome show in a sea of shit.

The episode two weeks ago on the ADA was great. This middle aged bitch goes around and looks for people parked illegally in handicapped spots, and takes their picture and sends them to the dmv. Kicker is, she's not even handicapped, her daughter is blind. She's obviously taking advantage of her daughter's disability so she can park in handicapped spaces herself. No idea why they would give a blind person a handicapped parking permit. Episode was kind of a touchy subject, but I agree the ADA is bullshit. Part of who we are is overcoming obstacles and handicaps we are born with on our own, not getting our hands held through life. Then the ADA goes as far as to give handicapped permits to people who get confused using telephones, or something nutty.

This week's episode was Nukes, Hybrids & Lesbians.

That title certainly got my interest.

It's a fun show, but sometimes I do catch them bashing strawmen. They're so one-sided and so determined to strike down "bullshit" that I do think it can lead to a bit of intellectual dishonesty on their part.

Still, though, I loved the PETA episode for illuminating that organization's rather disturbing links to out-and-out terrorist groups.

I like a lot of the episodes. This one was good and bad at the same time. I liked the nuclear energy part. They did a decent job of showing why nuclear power is good. The segment they did on hybrid cars sucked, though. To test the effectiveness of the hybrid, they drove it on the highway for about 60 miles to show it only got about 45 mpg. To quote P&T... BULLSHIT!!! The hybrid car is designed to get great mileage in CITY DRIVING! They aren't much different than other small cars on the highway. City driving is the kind of driving that causes the most pollution with normal cars.

Ever think that while blind people can't drive they do need to be driven to places and that it might be a WEE BIT dangerous to have to lead a blind person through a long, busy parking lot?

Gee. Thanks for the timely notice!:furious:

How come I don't see it on the guide for the rest of the night? Usually, you get several chances to see it, because of HBO2, HBOW, and HBOW2.

EDIT... Oops. It's Showtime, isn't it?

Yeah, its showtime. And I didn't even know it premiered tonight until I saw it on my tivo at like midnight.

Also, it will replay about a million times before next Thursday.

This episode just irritated me. I just cannot understand how people think porn leads to rape. Rape is almost never about sex, its about power and hate.

i had a professor who believed internet porn caused dramatic sexual addictions, which lead to rape-oriented lusts. she said that the prevalence of porn on the internet caused the increased number of rapes in the U.S.

The increase in rape is just an increase in the number of rape being reported. It's like crime in schools. It's happening less, but it's getting reported more.

Don't gloss over the effect of widespread education in the art of rape prevention prevention in the last few years.

she made us read about these slave/wash woman/irish/nuns as an example of how horrible men are to women. it sounded terrible, but everyone who knew what was going on was ok with it. and it was really women on women crime.

it really is a great show. I just caught up with all 7 seasons. the best part, which made my day was the episode on Manners - season 4 episode 8. Exactly at minute 20, they talk about a New Jersey police officer getting fired for his comedy routine, outside of the job. the picture - IT'S CLUB SODA KENNY!!! I couldn't believe it!

It made me so happy!!!!!

Holy shit, a two-year bump. Well, as long as I'm here....

Reason why I love the show is it gives me legitimate tangible vindication for the things I always knew were bullshit but could never articulate when called on. The episode on numbers and statistics, as well as the episodes on recycling and child abduction, are prime examples of things I knew in my gut were sensationalized crap but lacked the energy or resources to back up.

I felt the same thing, especially with the 12 step programs. my mother spew that shit, and I just looked at her and thought "but you're still no better than when you went in, and have a lack of reality and control". It's a good episode. And I really hate when AA people say that alcoholism is a disease - IT ISN'T A DISEASE, ASS HAT!

Back in the day I saw so many Penn and Teller live shows I can't even count them all. I used to know a guy in Baltimore that knew them, and I hung with them a few times. The show Bullshit is interesting. I agree with some of the points of view, and not others. Penn and Teller are great guys, and put on a great show every time. Amazing talented guys. I have a secret to reveal . . . Teller can really talk, and he's a sweetie
