As long as I can remember, I can't recall so much bile and hatred for a member of the R&F show(well, maybe Earl). Okay, at first, Dave was a bit annoying at times, sounding like a retarded kid in the cereal aisle at the market, but the young man has grown, and improved greatly. Some of you cretins criticize everything Dave says and does, and I suggest you relax and realize that it's only a radio show, not rocket science. This is a fan site, so why not support the show and give young David a break? He is a work in progress, and the kid has a great future, whether it be radio or even television. Part Andy Dick, part Jar Jar Binks and part Peter Pan, Dave is an asset to the show. Show the love.

I've always dug Dave and have never understood the immediate hatred some people had for him - except if it was holdover hatred for Harry T. It REALLY made no sense. If you go back and listen to the old tapes and then read the comments made, it was like two different world.

The thing is, most of the hatred was sort of contained on other boards and only spilled over to here because this was where Dave was from and where he got the most support early on, and where he had the best chance of seeing it. If some listeners are too stupid to trust the hosts judgement, then fuck 'em. Dave is hysterical and Ron and Fez, and a majority of the fans, get it. I'm not going to worry about shit stains that think they know this show better than R&F.

And Blowhard, you think Dave is hated more than Al Dukes was? When people called to bash Al, there was real hatred in their voice from those NYC called. I think it feels like more people hate dave because the message boards are more prevelant now, but even the studio guests back then HATED Al.

The Al Dukes era was great but completely different. The only thing that it shares with what's going on now is that too many of the haters are unfunny parrots who attempt to make things about themselves.

I was thinking the same thing. With all of the hate Dave gets, it pales in comparison to the Al hate. At least the audience is divided on Dave, but everyone seemed to be against Al. Even Opie and Anthony hated Al, and they dig Dave.

I feel like this thread was brought back from over 6 months ago.....Dave is more embraced now than ever. Ron obviously loves him, he is an integral part of the show, and he isnt going anywhere. The only thing I could say is that Dave knows he is loved and needed now, so his confidence level is much higher, which just adds to his Daveness.

My very discerning ear says that this talented young supernova will explode on the scene very soon. He's already proven to be radio gold with his witty give and take banter with Ronnie. Since he got with KC there can be no denying that he's also a playa from way back in the day. (dont hate the playa, hate the game, people!) I see a bright future for Dave in front of the mike as well as acting, and i'm not talking dinner theatre, but with his singing background, we're looking at the Broadway stage, of course he'll then make the natural transition to the big screen, where i picture him in the action/adventure genre, but don't try to typecast him Hollywood, because he can play the light romantic comedy too!:smoke:

Dave contributes ideas and thoughts to the show by the truckload. Sometimes they're dim, sometimes they're surprisingly lucid and observant. When he blurts out idiot lines at serious times can it's golden. Like when it was hinted he caused Fez's second stent, he said "If I'm killing Fez, then I'm GONE, baby! Like the unicorn! ...The...They're extinct." :laugh:

I don't want to sound like a Broken Record, But I told Dave to his Face. He is the Best Producer since the .com daze. Al Dukes was the Joke, it was funny, but he is just a schill. I like Dave, I enjoy him on the show. I started getting the podcasts and realized that I like dave much more when he's on the FM side. He knows what he's talking about, and can't present a decent argument without screaming which i think he tends to do on XM. Like Ron said yesterday we need dave to be a little less Dave and hopefully that means he uses the same "charactor" on the XM side as well.

I agree all the Dave bashing needs to stop. From the first day i started listening to the show he has been one of my favorites. The only time I think he has done something wrong is on Tuesdays Xm show when he brought up the death of one of Earls best friends. Also id have to agree that he is a heck of a lot better on the Fm side since he cuts out on all his screaming tirades.
