It didn't come as a shock or anything. He was 85 and was in a hospace. It's just such a weird feeling. I didn't really know my grandpa well, and I don't even think I regret it or anything. It was jsut watching a stranger die, but it got to me to see how everyone was so effected by it.

Today was also him and his wifes 64 wedding anniversary. It may sounds tupid, but I really think he willed himself to keep on living to make it to their anniversary.

Everything is just numb right now. I've been lucky and havent had to deal with death much at all. I know it's part of life and all that, it jsut sucks right now is all.

I just needed to vent a little.

Sorry Keithy. I know you are good with your writing, maybe writing out your feelings will help heal your pain and help your family through the wake/funeral. I know you didnt know him well, but obviously your family did..

I have lost both grand fathers. One to cancer in a long drawn out hospace fasion and the other with heart failure. They were equally hard to take, but I think it was a little easier to deal with knowing that my cancer ridden grandfather was in a better place. I know how you feel. Sorry to hear this. Hope everything is well.

I went back to the hospital tonight. I don't even know why. I just had soemthing telling me to go. I went into the hospace and I got a pamphlet about volunteering at the hospital. I also talked to the nurse who took care of my grandfather. I feel a lot better after doing this. Like, I'm at peace with it all now.

sorry bout your loss Keithy.....my grandfather was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 weeks ago.....he was a war veteran so he's being taken good care of.....they just put him under Hospice care and placed him in a retired home. I never really knew him all that well, but he is my father's father. The only sadness I feel now is for my father. We just lost my Mother back in September of last year...and now his dad isnt far away from death, not even 6 months later? Rough, really rough.....

I hope everything works out for your family, Keithy.....everything finds a way of working itself out in time.
