Seriously, on this issue: defending Gonzalez because he's Latino is a cop-out. He's a disgrace to the office who only got his job because he's willing to give the President legal cover for what he wants to do. He harms Latinos -- along with all Americans -- far more than he helps them.

To give another example, there are many, many white judges who are far better on issues of civil rights than Clarence Thomas. Having one of them on the court instead of him would be better for African-Americans.
