I think that if you are the Worst Team, you should get the First Pick in the Draft, all other sports have it right. They may make it interesting with the Ping Pong Balls getting Selected on Cable Television. But Again a team who should have the 6th or 7th Pick is getting the # 1 Pick.
What is your opinion on this Subject?

I'm just glad the Celtics got screwed this year!
I wish my Celtics would stop hinging their future on a ping pong ball and would instead get a GM and a Head Coach who actually knew what the fuck they were doing.

I like the lottery. Why make sure teams not trying get rewarded? Plus, it makes interesting TV.

IT'S BULLSHIT!!!!
This is the second time the C's have gotten screwed by it. I thought the NBA wanted Boston to have a great team again, it'd be nice if we could get the franchise players we're owed.

First Bias, then the Duncan Lottery, now this... I think they are totally trading that pick now. Get a guy like Gasol or Jermaine O'Neal

Yea... ITS FIXED!!!!! The NBA really wanted their top 2 players going to the Fucking Pacific Northwest... Not Bos Chicago and Philly...
This was the worst possible scenario for the NBA...
The NBA owes the C's NOTHING!!! You guys DOMINATED the league for 30 fucking years. Getting great player after great player.. For the Love of God.. You got Russel on a deal that involved a fucking CIRCUS!!! They traded the 2nd pick to you guys in exchange for their pick, and a promise to bring the fucking CIRCUS TO THEIR FUCKING TOWN!!! C's are owed JACK!!
AJ said it perfect.. Stop hinging your bets on the luck of a lotto pick.. And get a GM who knows what the fuck he is doing, and a fucking Coach THATS NOT DOC RIVERS!!!!!
My Knicks are in the same spot.. We are a much more important part of the NBA than the C's.. And we are not getting any help either.. We have to climb out of our own hole.

I wish Bob Kraft and the Sox ownership would buy the Bruins and Celtics. They have the worst owners, front office and coaches.

Knicks fans might beg to differ.
EDIT -- but I agree that the Celts' ownership and management sucks. I'm glad Red isn't alive to see this shit.

I think the lottery is fine the way it is. What happened last night was poetic justice. Boston and memphis shit bagged the season and didnt play hard the last month or so trying to get the #1 pick. And what did that get them? 4th and 5th. What the NBA lottery system does is lets teams know to try hard and not lose on purpose b/c lsoing doesnt guarantee anything.
Now Oden going to Boston would have been great for the NBA but if they get that Yi kid from China who is 7'2 and more athletic then Yao I think they will still be in good shape. I really dont care as much as I hopw the Nets resign Carter and somehow get a big man with heart and attitude at center or power forward.

It is fair from a math standpoint, since it uses weighted averages to determine the rankings.
I do not always agree that the worst team should get the 1st pick, there was a lot of talk in the NBA this year about teams losing down the stretch to get better draft picks. I think the lotto system diffuses that.
and the difference in the NBA draft compared to other sports is a #1 pick can immediatly change your team, while in football and baseball, the impact is much less.
My Bucks went from 3rd to 6th with the lottery. We legitimately had injuries to every starter throughout the season and still got punished in the lottery. But you know what? It's fair.
The lottery takes the certainty out of the rewards of tanking. Good for the league to try to find a system that keeps some sort of competitive spirit right to the end.
Plus, if you were in this year's lottery and can't find a good impact player, as a General Manager you are a tool and deserve to be fired.

Your still in good shape. The Buck have a good team and any pick will help. Thats the good thing about the NBA draft and the sport itself. 1 new great young stud can change a team in one year. and over 2 or 3 years they can win. Look at Orlando they draft shaq and increas their wins by 20 games in 1 season. The next year they got penny and went to the playoffs. Next year they got pennt made the playoffs and 1 year later they went to the NBA Finals (should have won)
MLW will b a good team next year.

If it were fixed then the top pick would have gone to an eastern confrence team. The NBA doesnt want its future in the Great Northwest. They want the entire country to see them, in a populated area on high ranked market tv. Boston, NY would have been a better place for Oden or Durant.
It wasnt fixed it just didnt go the way people wanted it. Thats life isnt it?

I'm not concerned at all. With all the injuries this season, a top 6 pick and $15 Million in free salary cap open....I'm not concerned in the least bit.

kinda funny that you put down tanking (rightfully so) and then go on to talk about vince carter, the king of tanking (to the point that the entire nation to our north loathes him).

Vince Carter is a great athlete, but that guy is a bitch. The horseshit he pulled in Toronto is unforgiveable as a fan.
