I just wanted to wish all the members of my extended family a fun, safe, and happy Memorial Day weekend.

Enjoy your time with family and friends, but try to give a minute or two of thought to the real meaning of the holiday. It's not for price slashing sales, believe it or not.

Be careful, and for the love of God, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. I know it's been said a million times and no one likes hearing it, but do the right thing. I can't tell you how many friends of mine have been busted for DUIs, and most of them were barely over the legal limit. Driving sober is not only the responsible and legal thing to do, but if you get behind the wheel with even a few beers in you you'll get popped. It's a personal and financial nightmare.

Now let's fire up the barbecues and get this party started!
