So I've heard nothing but horror stories about Sleepy's.

Rockaway Bedding (which I've heard good things about) is apparently going into Chapter 11.

800-Mattres is kinda creepy.

Any ideas to get a good bed and what brands are good?

i'd say go to a bed store where you can actually lay in them and test them out. there's no substitute for that. i got one at a sleepy's like 6 years ago and it was a great experience.

Have You Considered A HazMat Supply Store?

i slept in a sleep number bed at a hotel and it was cool, but if you are sleeping with someone and you like to cuddle or whatever, there is a horribly annoying break between the two sides of the bed so you cant really sleep in the middle of the bed

this was actually good for me cus i hate cuddling

My wife and I grabbed a King Coil from Better Bedding. I'm guessing you don't have them in NY/NJ but i'm pretty sure their headquarters is in Hartford or New Haven. Anyways the King Coil is great. Wicked comfortable. Not too bad I don't think. 700 for a pillowtop queen.

Sarah and I got a Kingsdown from Sleepys that has been the greatest bed I've ever slept in.

Never buy a bed from a place that "picks up your old mattress"... Other people have bedbugs, and they will travel from mattress to mattress inside the truck. I got the Select Comfort and it is the best investment I made, plus, the whole thing weighs next to nothing, so making the bed and moving it is a snap. You will need a platform though..

we have a platform now for our current bed, but I need to find a place that sells platforms in kingsize. Any takers?

Beds are over-rated. Sleeping on the floor is good for your back and there's more space in the room.

And besides, you won't fall off the floor as you would if you fall off the bed.
