All week I keep hearing about this new movie Knocked Up. It has a 94 percent positive review on Rotten Tomatoes. People are saying its the comedy of the summer. I feel like its a chick flick with some funny moments, not a true comedy. So do you think its gonna deliver or will it be an abortion ?

Yeah, but wasn't 40 Year Old Virgin kind of a chick flick too?

And that was funny.

I watched an interview on Conan and there is supposedly a lot of pot smoking and even some mushroom eating in the movie - so at least that’s a plus. It’ll be a good one.

I just realized she is the daughter from that Gérard Depardieu movie from the mid-90s: My Father the Hero - just an interesting tidbit for everyone...

I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet it's got a few good lines but in between it drags on with incessant sight gags and hack jokes.

Kinda like "Wedding Crashers" "40 Year Old Virgin" and every other supposedly "hysterical" comedy to come out in the past 5 years.

If you remember the film she was pretending to be older to get an older guy. So she tricked me into doing it.

Just saw it. Phenomenal. Judd Apatow is a genius. I dig their whole crew from Freaks and Geeks/Undeclared. Can't wait for 'Superbad' at the end of the summer...

It really was a damn good movie. I saw it yesterday, and actually heard Paul-O's brief review of it on the way to the theater.

I think he didn't like it because
1: he can't buy into happiness right now
2: he's never known a pregnancy to go full term
3: he didn't see it

It's cliche to say "I laughed out loud," but I did, and I never do that.

I can say that this movie is the comedy of the year, right now.

I'm with you on that one. I never laugh out loud at movies, and I was howling at points in this movie.

Knocked Up was hilarious.

Saw it yesterday, it was really funny. It had that balance funny/sweet/raunchiness like 40 year old virgin. And don't chick flicks usually have really good looking leading men? (Even though Seth is pretty sweet...)

Since Judd Apatow is partially responsible for Freaks & Geeks, I'm in.

Then you'll appreciate the Paul Feig cameo in "Knocked Up" then Mikeyboy.

Did you ever check out 'Undeclared'? Everyone who was in that show is in KU. Great show, most accurate depiction of college ever...

saw it last night. it was funny, but it was no where close to the 40 y/o virgin. seth rogan & paul rudd together are magical, but other than that it wasn't as great as everyone says.

but i can fully understand why ron can't watch the 40 y/o virgin. apatow's movies hit way too close to home. paul rudd & leslie mann's characters reminded me to a T of my friend & her boyfriend & their scenes were cringe-worthy to me. maybe if they weren't sitting right next to me i would have enjoyed it more, but who knows.

Like Hammer said, he also did Undeclared, another great show that only lasted one season (I blame 9/11. Seriously). He was also one of the main writers/producers for The Larry Sanders Show and The Ben Stiller Show and The Critic, so he's got some serious comedy writing cred.

Wasn't as funny as T40YOV BUT i cannot help but love any movie that uses "Shimmy, Shimmy Ya" in the opening credits. Jason Segal was ridiculous good as the pervy best friend.

I am also kind of scared that Paul Rudd has AIDS, he has lost a lot of weight and looks washed out.

Knocked Up was GREAT! Made me laugh beginning to end. I think what helped the funny was how real some scenes are, like when he is screaming at her in the doctors office. It's what I feel like saying everytime my girl gets her period.

Kathrine Hegiel is beautiful, I have a new hollywood crush!
