I did not have high expectation for the 8525 but it has suprized me. the keyboard knocks the shit outta the others. the sliding is flimsy for my taste but I can manage. the weakest part is the semi awkward phone functions. the strongest part of the phone is the big screen and windows mobile. it has ms word xcel powerpoint and windows media player. I can drag and drop mp3 .wmv etc. on my2 gig card and listen to rnf all day.

the internet is pretty slow. it reminds me of a 56k.

conclusion:
windows mobile is better than other choices.
big screen and keys better than treo or bb. The phone function is clumsier than phone with a keyboard on the face like treo or bb.
It is the first phone I feel like I am actually surfing the web with.

Well you have a 3G phone there, so the slow internet connection is probably due to not being in a 3G area yet. 3G will give speeds equivalent to a cable modem, however only major cities have 3G right now (philly is one of them). I dont get 3G here yet in cali, and my phone connects at about 136kbps (about twice as fast as dial up).

If you're interested, I tether my laptop to my cell phone using bluetooth. This provides my laptop with internet connection anywhere in the country where you get a cell signal. Its really useful if you're on the go a lot or travel for work. I dont have a 3G phone and the internet is plenty fast for email and web surfing. Cant wait to get 3G cause I'll basically have cable modem speed internet where ever I go.

I think you can do it with the 8525. Just need a laptop with bluetooth. The cell phone company cant tell the difference, unless of course you blow through 3 gigs of data within a month. That might be a problem.
