hey guys,
I really need your help. Furie and i have a boy that will be turning 2 in late july. I was thinking about using this place called "The Palace" for his party, but they are asking $369.00, plus a 15% gratuity. This is for 15 kids or less (a 2 hr party), here is what O would get:
moonbouncer
craft (plaster craft, sand art, treasure boxes, tee-shirts, pillowcases <paint the last 2>
slice of pizza or bagel
juice or soda
cupcakes or ice cream cup
host/hostess
games and dancing
goodie bags
paper products and invitations
there is a list of additional services that can be added for an additional price and thats not including anything for the adults.
do you guys have any suggestions, i'm looking for something in the kings park, smithtown area> please help me before I drive furie crazy!!!!!

I read this post last night but waited to respond. My wife and I waited until my kid was 4 to throw the big "party". We did wood kingdom in Farmingdale. I was happy with everything but I can't imagine doing a big party at 2 years. We always did a family type party and included a few neighbor's kids @ the house. My kids @ two were still into napping and I worked weekends. It was easier and more flexible to do it that way.
There seems to be more pressure to do the party thing when they are school age because you don't want all their smelly class mates in your house. Anyway, I hope this helped some how. Congrats and Happy Birthday.

Maybe save your money for the party and take an overnight trip to Hershey, Dutch Wonderland or Sesame Place. I stayed @ Willow Valley in Lancaster. I was pretty happy with it.

2002, was for 6 yrs, there are rides and a baby ball pit, the rest of the kids are they older or same age, if you have older kids, then I say yes, if not, My Sis in Law is having a 2nd bday for my Nephew, its at her House, he is the only child, she will have elmo, then the Adults will have good food. and ofcourse CAKE

It has been my experience that 2 is too young to start the Big Party thing. You guys could probably wait another year to begin. At 2, he won't remember a thing about it. Wait another year. Plus being a little older, it opens you up to more choices. Have some cake, then go play in the park for a while.

The Tubmeister is absolutely right on this one. My boy is 3 and it was only for his third birthday that we did the big party (Chuck E. Cheese - which wasn't a good choice for his age but he saw the commercials and wanted to go).
Get a big sheet cake decorated with whatever he's into (Trucks, Go Diego Go, etc.) and spoil him with a lot of inexpensive gifts.

Another idea. We had a 4th birthday party at a new Burger King they built, with one of those kiddy play areas. Climbing, ball pit, etc. It was only 5 or 6 bucks/kid. They all had a blast. They close the whole thing off for just your party. Kids meal, birthday cake, then running around for an hour or so.
Pretty nice.

Agreed, before they turn 6, they are so Easy to Please, you can have a Burfday at a Sears and they will find a way to have fun

Does anyone here remember their 2nd birthday? I don't, so I'm thinking the party is more for the parents, so have it where you want.

Even though $370 + tip seems like a lot to spend on a birthday party for a two-year-old, it's definitely the way to go if you can afford it. You can't beat the convenience of just showing up at the place, having fun with the kids for a couple of hours and heading home. You don't have to worry about bad weather, or decorating, or cleaning up, or getting the stragglers out of your house. And, make sure you have your kid open his gifts after you get home.
