Phil Hendrie Returns To Radio - 6/4 - Phil Hendrie is coming back to radio. The "man-of-a-thousand-voices" has signed a deal with Talk Radio Network for a new show, which will air from 10 PM to 1 AM (ET) starting 6/25. It's been a year since Hendrie gave up his previous show with Clear Channel's Premiere. Hendrie had been heard on Clear Channel's WTNT..... (http://www.dcrtv.com/)
I knew this would happen, when he retired to pursue TV, I saw the shows he was a part of and they were terrible. He was desperate, he wasn't even writing.
I'm actually pretty excited, although his reoccurring characters can get repetitive if you listen daily, his reverse-prankcalls can provide some raucous laughter.

I've hear of this guy but I don't think he's ever been on in the NY area. I remember he was on some sitcom where he played a teacher.

It was always amazing to me how many hayseeds believed the reverse prank calls and called in furious, night after night. Endless entertainment!

Hilarious.
I wish he was going back to Clear Channel, so I could hear him on XM.
I forget the character's name, but one of my favorites was the "a gay man, and a gay journalist".

Doug Danger was the Gay Man and Gay Journalist. Yeah that was some of the best.
Sorry to disappoint any fans but it seems he's going to do more of a political talk show, i.e. he tends to lean right so I'm a little afraid it'll sound more like Glen Beck, with occasional comedy. The inversion of what it was. He got divorced since retirement so that's where he says he's at.
I think that in this post-Imus world he's thinking he can't go back to what he did. He almost exclusively did racial humor, with an occasional slice of gay.

I always took Phil Hendrie to be fairly liberal, but not afraid to step off the party line and be conservative.

He did some characters but mostly midnight political ranting.

Among his many routines, I always enjoyed his Art Bell bit, complete wth the ABBA bumper music.
