After listening to Al Dukes go on about his Wikipedia page I want to hear more Al. I know Al is splitting his time between being dump guy and big wig but I bet he could also handle producing the show again.

I was hoping the show would get all of their Al clips from NEW. I miss them, especially the Randy segment where Al ran out and screamed "This is not a bit!!!!"

Um... Al screaming "this is not a bit" wasn't due to Randy, I'm pretty sure.

Did he survive the FREE-FM bloodbath?

Did he survive the FREE-FM bloodbath?

I was wondering, when did Al and Opie get over their one-sided "grudge"? cuz Opie seems perfectly friendly with him now.

i thought it was, when we was yelling about how he was going to punch Randy next time he came in studio. And then was yelling about he wanted him to sign a waiver or something to allow Al to punch him in the face on air.

Opie grew up. Plus Al is management and technically his boss now.

They got over it because Opie had no choice! Al is the station's dump guy!!!

i missed the al dukes era, so its almost mythical to me.

you gotta say that was probably when the r&f show was at its best.

ive heard most of the old shows and al dukes is a real curiosity to me.

He did?

He went from careless, immature boy-man to a bitter old senior citizen.

Maybe Opie could get Al a pinball machine (http://ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2293) to replace the one he destroyed (http://ronfez.net/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=2292).

Nick is correct, he was actually yelling AT Randy, telling him to say it wasn't a bit. Right before the famous drop is a less famous drop of Al saying "SAY IT! INTO THE MIC!!!!!!"

How did it come about that Al sang (and the got the drop) "I'm the gay guy on Broadway." I remember laughing my ass off and I think it was another great breakdown that involved Randy but can't put all the pieces together ... it's been too long.

I believe you are incorrect.

2002-06-06 part 2 – R. Kelly’s children’s videos, MTV Movie Awards, The Sum of All Fears, Al talks about being angry and frustrated, Gay Randy in the studio, Al’s meltdown part 1, ‘What do I have to say. This is not a bit.’

I think Al was ranting about how Randy was 2 dimensional and boring because no matter what, he was always "the gay guy" and nothing more. He started imitating Randy "I'm the gay guy doing this, I'm the gay guy doing that..."

...then, of course, "I'm the gay guy on Broadway!"

The genius of Al Dukes was that even though I'd be listening and telling myself "it's a bit...he's being a dick on purpose" there were still times I wanted to knock his teeth out.

Amazing.

And I still have the letter that accompanied my Big ASS card. It was signed "The Fabulous Al Dukes."

i love when bob backs me up.

and now for a recent al story. a few weeks back on the show Al was saying how he was late to the party and just starting watching Arrested Development. I have always heard such good things about the show, and then once he brought it up I decided to give it a try. In one day, I am almost done with season 1 and I LOVE this show. I am now in the same boat as Al Dukes because I want to discuss the show with people, but the episodes I am watching now are 4 years old. Either way, the show is great and Al is great.
