Incredible! They find so many ways to fuck you it's incredible. So I log in to buy the "best available" seats online as tix open for the concert I'm interested and I get nominal seats at best. So I figure the site wouldn't lie and take what's there.
So a little later my sis calls me to pick up two more for her as she coaching at the time so I do so and her tix are WAY better an hour later.
Sooo, Ticketmaster is the biggest rip off out there and they have a horrible system of ticket purchasing. You never really know what's available online and it's nearly impossible to get tix to a decent event before the agencies buy them all up.
FUCK TICKETMASTER!
Don't worry buddy.
Justin Timberlake will be back again soon.

I usually call a Ticketmaster in a Small State, I speak to them on the phone and get what I want, but the Website and Ticketmaster in General really Sucks Balls.

I cannot even start to type the level of hatred I have in my heart for Ticketmaster. So, instead of getting so angry I bite drywall, I'll just leave now.
I just got two tickets to see a show next week, and there was an $8.50 convenience charge PER TICKET.
On top of that there was still a processing fee and delivery fee (to print out my own tickets)
That shit blows.

I hate ticket master. I bought tickets to the cotto vs judah fight (going tonight) and the tickets cost $50 each then there was a convience charge of $10 per ticket and then a facility charge of $9 per ticket then a processing fee of $3.10 a ticket. What the fuck is all that? So $50 seats cost $72.10 each thats almost 50% for fees. Fucking out of hand. There needs to be a better alternative to ticketmaster or the artists, acs, fighters, sports teams and whoever else needs to do something b/c all they are doing is fucking over their fans.

I've done the same thing Spoon I bought tickets like ahour after they went on sale and took what they gave me. Then I checked what they had available a couple of days later and they were better seats then what I had bought. The worst is if a show is cancelled Ticketmaster won't refund you the service charges on the tickets. A few years ago I lost like 40 dollars worth of service charges due a cancelled show.

Yeah we take it deep. I'm not that into Pearl Jam but they tried to fight Ticketmaster and eventually had to kiss the ring. The only thing that Ticketmaster has done recently that I like is this new ticket auction thing. Its like buying tickets on ebay or stubhub but through Ticketmaster. It got me tickets last year for Coldplay 3rd row center. Other than that there a bunch of cuntfaces.

class action laswsuits are useless. Even when they settle for a ton of money, the lawyers are the only ones who really get paid. The rest of the money after the lwayers take their end gets divided by so many people that you may get 1 penny on the dollar.

with Gov. Spitzer legalizing scalping in NY, ticketmaster prices may seem like a bargain soon.
sad.

Yep they do suck ass but it's not difficult to get great seats to just about any show.
Never, ever ever ever buy seats the day the show opens unless you snag what you think are the best seats you'll get.
As day of show nears tickets drop for various reasons; search, then sarch later, then search the next day, and most of the time if you keep trying kick ass seats become available coz someone else didnt want or need em, and boom, there they are.
Try near day of show; great seats drop. Or scalp away.

I always try to get around Ticketbastard whenever possible.
The easiest thing to do is try and follow the band's website...Usually they will have a presale the days before the general public tickets go on sale. Usually those bands will use a different method of ticket agency. And their fees are much smaller.
I have bought many tickets in the past couple of years for bands that are selling out places, just by using the bands website pre-sale method.
Just be aware of when stuff goes on sale and join the band's message board.
Wilco and Ryan Adams in a couple of weeks. Both done without using ticketbastard.
Woohoo!

I've done that too, but it's not always possible. Especially when I like a ton of lesser known/popular bands and can't possibly take that approach every time. I just don't have the time for that either. The same thing applies to Mike's approach. To me, it should simply be first come, first serve. Also it depends on the venue and the band for Mike's approach. The larger both are, the more likely tix will open up as the reserved tix aren't to be used and they open up as they (band members and others involved) release their tix. However, it's not a safe way to hit a big concert as if you miss scalping can make TM look cheap.
I use Mike's approach at sporting events all the time. There at least you have two full teams of comped seats that rarely get used, even in big games and playoffs. I've landed NHL playoffs tix at the Devils, Avalanche, San Jose and even Stanley Cup tix in NJ. It's strange to walk up to the arena the day of the event and land good seats for game 3 and 4, but game 6 was a clusterfuck!
