What happens to the sperm?

A few years ago, Thunderlips, me, and an office mate pondered this question: what happens to the sperm after a vasectomy? From our understanding, a vasectomy is basically keeping the "chocolate" from swirling with the "vanilla." SO what happens to the sperm (the "chocolate") after a guy gets snipped?

ALICE - As you know, the testes produce sperm. During ejaculation, the sperm travels along a tube called the vas deferens and mixes with seminal fluid produced by the prostate. The combination is called semen and it is this that is ejaculated.

During a vasectomy, the vas deferens is cut and tied so that the sperm cannot reach the prostate and be ejaculated. Only the seminal fluid is ejaculated and that alone contains no sperm.

The testes however, keep on producing sperm. But they cannot go anywhere since the vas deferens is cut. Instead, they die and are absorbed into the body.
