I like Earl as a funny part of the show, and want him to stay.
After two years as producer, at the very least he deserves a "Save Earl" thread.

But then, maybe they'd get a better producer if he was gone.

It would be very odd to see him get fired, he has always been there on XM. I guess if he is really not doing his job behind the scenes (and I do not think anyone here really knows either way, so I am not going to speculate), then he needs to be fired. If 95% of the stuff on air is just a bit, and he is really good behind the scenes, but just sucks on the air, then he should not be fired at all.

R&F were thrust into the spotlight the last 25 days or so, and I think a lot of XM management listened to the show much more closely than before, including taking trips up here. Earl did have A LOT on his plate, with all of the best of's, the live show, FreeFM going away, and Daves wedding. maybe they do not like how he handled everything, or maybe they should give him some more people.

I can see a demotion to "regular" producer and pulling someone else in to E.P.

I don't want the guy to loose his livelihood, but I really don't like to hear him on air.

I would like to see Earl gone, Pitzzy, Bronx Johnny, and the rooster take over production, ESD, Lilly, and Nicco in the studio with ron and fez and all of that on their very own channel. I'm really digging the 24 hour Ron & Fez show. I've had the radio on more than ever these past few weeks.

Earl is just there for himself. He has no interest in showing the heads how this show can do well on it's own. Time to stop riding o&a's coat-tails.

How do you figure that? We have no idea what role Dave would play. Ron said on-air that he didn't think Dave would get the nod for E.P.

With somebody else in Earl's seat there is a greater chance they will get more time, not Dave. If anything, it could mean less Dave since he will have to step up his game behind the scenes to help with the transition.

It's hard to say how effective Earl is since I'm sure Ron highlights the negatives to make for better radio, but I wouldn't ming shaking the show up a bit with a new producer. But Earl does come off as a genuinely nice guy and I'd hate to see him get canned. I guess I'd idealy like to see him get the Black Rock Coalition show, move on and bring on a new producer.

This is just my opinion here , we are all friends and love the buddays .......(yes).....BUT....
Earl is not funny . Al was funny ,joe poo was funny , the orange ball of unfunny failure was funny , Dave is funny , but earl is not only not funny, HES DEPRESSING AND WOULD BE FIRED ANYWHERE ELSE !! ....


Get this over with allready , I haven't listened in a couple of weeks , I can no longer stand him, he has ruined the show for me . He is not totally to blame however . Earl is too busy to reply or meet . It was a trully great idea , involving interviews with LOST podcasters each week , a 5 minute segment , talkin about a show , and maybe getting some insight to the theories out there. Some of these guys get 10's of thousands of dowloads a week . Great for cross marketing right ???? Not for Earl , he's TOO BUSY !!!

( By the way , the sirius dudes you know hooey baba....., met with me years ago , and used a bit , and had me on air for a while . He IS a NYC producer , and yes , he is also very funny )

Look, I'm not saying it was a bad, idea I'm just saying it's not something I'd be all that interested in listening to. The point I was trying to make,is that I just don't agree with that particular example makes earl an incompetent producer. I think there's probably many other examples that could be used to point out earls incompetence.

But in reality all we know is what Ron and Fez want us know, and none of us our producers of the show(as much as some people like to think they are) so I just get sick of the constant Earl bashing when no one can say that they know all the facts. I guess I'm just more inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt.



a slightly unrelated question, Do you think XM would fire Earl if Ron and Fez didn't want them to? I would think that if they said they wanted him to be the producer they'd have to take that into consideration.

Ya know what, I'm done trying to save Earl. I've been a BIG Earl supporter for a long time. I'm one of those people who reminds posters that we really don't know what Earl does for the show, and he's probably really good behind the scenes.

But even I am sick of his long line of excuses. I know we only know what happens on air and not behind the scenes, but Ron and Fez's show has always been fairly transparent as far as some behind the scenes, and I think a lot of what we hear has parts of the truth to it.

Earl needs to step it the fuck up or go.

Ron (the wise one..) once said; "I tell everyone involved in this show the same rule: either tell a joke or be the joke".
Black Earl can do neither. He isn't funny on his own and when they try to create humor around him at his expense, his stammering, slow wit ruins it.
He simply isn't funny and he does not posses the comedic timing of a "straight man".
That's the way I see it.
I'm sure in real life Earl is a nice guy..but so what? He simply does not add ANYTHING to the show on air. Off air? I don't know the full story, but I can summize he's barely capable.
Also..lets not forget "intern Revolultion"...it was quite appearant then that Earl has NO management skills.
