I think you're both right and a middle ground needs to be met. I agree with EliSnow's post above that they should make it a point of making Dave comfortable with their friendship. While it may be a sign of insecurity and jelousy (day and night you.. torture me.) Dave is not completely out of bounds by feeling uncomfortable. Part of the responsibility of a relationship is that you have to cope with the jealousy and insecurity of others.

In a sense, I can definitely agree with this. She's being selfish because she's giving Dave two options: 1. Deal with my Jonothan relationship as is, or 2. Make me cut off Jonothan completely.

So either Dave is extremely uncomfortable or he looks like a complete asshole (more than usual). If she would just give a little and say, "OK, Jonothan and I will hang out less alone and more in public and he won't wear your clothes while we make out."

BTW ... Mott The Hoople's version of "Sweet Jane" is so much better.
