View Full Version : At what point do you let the terrorists "win"

I live in Jersey City and commute into Manhattan everyday. The PATH train is twice as crowded (now that the WTC line no longer exists everyone takes the 33rd street train at gets off at Christopher St.) Nine times out of 10 I am packed into a train with some guy's briefcase in my ass. Then, God forbid, I forget my building pass. I am treated like a criminal and have to get someone from my dept. to "escort" me to my floor. (No lie-- this happened this Friday and yet a co-worker had money taken from her wallet, which was in her purse, which was in her desk!)
I have HAD it! To paraphrase The Onion, "If I don't get my tuna sandwich in the next 10 minutes, the terrorists 'win'!" I'm sick of the whole NYC area at this point. Is there anything wrong with wanting to get the hell away from NYC?
Anyone else want to "flee?"

Believe me, I USED to like it here! I swear. It's just I've slowly lost my tolerance for the noise and over-crowding in the last couple of years. Now I've completely lost all patience since 9/11.

F1Gm3nT,
Oh yeah, I feel confident in the "security" staff in my building. A co-worker's money was stolen out of her wallet the same day, for God's sake! This is the same "top notch" security team that DID NOT sound the fire alarm when there was a MAJOR fire in our building. Someone on the street passing by the building called the fire department even though we pulled the alarm. BRAVO! Yeah, THAT'S SECURITY!
