As you may or may not know, last week I introduced a new segment to the show of "Ask Grammy", where as my Grandmother calls in and I ask her two questions about life or events.

Got anything you would like me to ask? Put it here. Keep in mind that any off color questions/posts will not be tolerated. It is my grandmother, show some respect.

Also, thank you to Effmeboobs for the idea for this segment.

Grammy will be 84 on July 22.

I will use two questions every week. If i do not use yours this week, i will in a coming week. Please keep them coming. I will sticky this thread.

Doing this as part of the show means alot to me. With her health problems last year, we didnt even think she would be with us this year. it is a gift and it is something that i will always have.

What is your fondest Family memory? or What is your fondest memory (in general)?

I have another question, but I don't know how to word it without sounding indellicate. Essentially it is "What major thing do you still want to do" - and I'm thinking of those "list" type things like see the sunset over the Pacific, hike part of the Appalachian Trail, visit Paris, go to Disneyworld with the whole family, etc. But it all feels like "what do you want to do before you die" - which is NOT what I am trying to ask. I'm really not trying to be a smartass here.

Maybe - is there any major activity or event your Grandmother would like to do or attend that she has never been to before?

I find it very interesting because people of "The Greatest Generation" have a much different view of what is and isn't important.

In light of this week's events, which does Grammy find more romantic (not necessarily more practical): a long courtship before a marriage, or a whirlwind affair with a wedding just weeks later?

Which decade do you think was the greatest for america?

What was it like raising children in the 50s (60s? 40s?)

if she had to choose one item; introduced during her lifetime, that has definitively changed her lifestyle (meaning she got it, and continued to use it and update it) what would it be? like a car, or a cordless phone, remote, computer, etc.

I would like to know aboot how important the "Space Race" was in real life. When Kennedy threw down the gauntlet, Sputnick being the first satellite, Yuri Gegarin being the 1st man in space, Armstrong 1st on the moon, etc.

And adding on to that, is she disappointed we're not driving flying cars and colonizing the moon yet?

WOW, what great questions, keep them coming. For the record, she is a huge Sinatra fan. So, no Elvis or Dean for her. She always told me that Dean looked like a fruit loop (gay). Clints, i asked her that stuff on mother's day. they went to the beach with their friends.

Questions for Grammy is going to be put on hold for the time being. She loves doing it but with my dad being sick and the three of them (dad, mom and her) packing up the house and getting ready to move it is hard for her to do. Her hearing aid is not going to be back for a few weeks and the phone that she used last week is already on its way to the new house. I will revisit this segment when she is ready. You will know because I will bump this thread. Grammy is happy to hear about all the questions and is getting a kick out of the whole thing. she also wants to know when I am going to pay her for this.

thanks.
