I think if the rematch was held today, north and south would both lose, because bush would probably start dropping nuclear bombs, regardless of which side he was on, and regardless of the consequences. We'd have to stay the course, even if that course was irradiated.

If it was a straight infantry, tank, airplane fight, with conventional weapons only....it's a tough one. It would take a long, long time, but I may give it to the south. I think the south probably has better rifleman, and it might turn the tide of the war, since alot of it would be urban warfare.

California actually sent some troops east in the first war....there was a company in the Second Massachusetts Cavalry composed of relocated Californians who made the trip east.

As far as the question? I'm not really all that sure....I guess it depends on how the regular army would separate, where all the skilled soldiers would go etc. etc. But do people still feel loyalty to a state over the country? I don't believe they do any more.
