So after listening to the "best of" yesterday I couldn't help but think that some of the points that Al Dukes made on air last week were true. I still don't believe that they should severe ties with this web site ( I can't for the life of me understand the beatings this web site takes ). But I digress. Was the WNEW period the high point of the show? Is the show now a shadow of it's former self? Fez was live wire back than. The production on the show was so smooth it was amazing. No constant break downs no producer constantly coming in to apologize. It just seemed like a well oiled machine back than. Don't get me wrong I still love the show and listen every day I just think that Al may have been right in allot of the stuff he said.

Al was so hated at the time and now he's what we're all wishing for.

I understand that last week when Al called that particular time it was part of a bit. But do you think that every time this site gets bashed that it's part of an ongoing bit? For instance when East Side puts the board down?

Also I never hated Al when he was part of the show although I undertand allot of people did. But god what a great on air personality he had. He was so good for the show, the guy was so funny ( when bracketed by Ron and Fez) and didn't even realize it.

The show was definitely hitting on all cylinders at WNEW. Ron was Ron which is simply the funniest, wittiest dude to ever walk this planet. Fez was on fire, doing voices, Andre, Jan Brady, the whole lot. He was feeling great and his performance on the show reflected it. I can only imagine how shitty Fezzy must be feeling for him to be so quiet. I bet it tears him up.

While show is still hysterical, with Dave pitching in and Earl, well Dave does pitch in alot, I think its tough on Ronnie B trying to carry this puppy on his shoulders. Hopefully Fezzy will right his health and his mental well being and get back to being the genious he was. Either way, these two cats make my shitty Post Office day a hell of alot better whenever I h ear them on the AIR,....

Thanks again Boys..YOUR THE BEST THING GOING TODAY!

I personally believe the show was at its best in its original form of the Ron and Ron Show in Tampa...realize some of your NYC people probably never heard those shows in their original form but there was an heir of "flying off the wheel" during that period when the FCC was not cracking down on radio yet...

I used to personally Love giving the Boots to Al Dukes, He really didnt like Randy and I, we would insult him a lil too Harsh. We topok the bit too far, but he was Gr8 Radio.

Loved when Staples Shitted on his paycheck. Comedy Gold from the BOBOF

Going back to listen to some of the old files from the library, I can definitely see some radio supermagic at play in those days. However, I think they were leaning dangerously far into shock jock land, what with Dukes pissing himself and Keisha washing Fezzie's feet. Personally, I don't dig shock jock land. It's an express ticket to a bad ending.

I think that the way they're going now, with long, beautiful bits has a lot more potential. I mean, how cool is it that we're sitting around arguing whether something is a bit or not! That's good radio. If Fezzie got back to 100% and the production evened out a bit, I think this show could surpass WNEW days.

I also think it could go on to conquer the universe and destroy all the robots with heat rays.

Pretend, that Fezzy is not on vacation but actually under the ocean sleeping in a ice-castle and tommorow the allian doctors will remove the bio-trackers that were inplanted in him. When he wakes up he'll be asked to answer three questions:
1: Can you help us paint a wrestling poster?
2: Is this your "no-spot"?
3: Homosaywhat?

When all three questions are correctly answered the mother-ship will escort Senior Watley
back to Xm studio with a fresh pair of underwear.

Honestly one thing the old replays make me realize is how little fez is involved right now... not so much al dukes... cause they can get dave to do any of the stuff that al dukes has been doing... like on friday with the genetortures... but i think the biggest difference for me is the condition of fez... i hope hes doing much better after this vacation... but then again i thought he was hitting like crazy at the wedding with the nature boy and fezy mccool... so i hope that was an indicator of good things to come

I don't know that they could just get Dave to do all the crazy Al stuff. I mean sure Dave really does add a tremendous amount to the on air part of the show but there was something funny about Al wether he even knew it or not. Or maybe Al was just a great producer. Either way I hope that Fez is able to balance himself out on whatever combination of medications and therapy he needs so that he can return to the old Fezzie we all know is lurking around in there somewhere.
