we all are a pretty creative lot, what inspires you?

for me, all my life i wanted to be on the radio but last week, seeing fez as the nature boy on stage has gotten my juices flowing. i dont know if he knows it or not but he has. from this point on, my omly goal is to get my show on to XM.

if i get the job tomorrow, this pic is going on my desk:

Stugots, I get inspired watching other people realize their dreams. One of the things you said on your radio show the other day about how in many ways you want to see your friends succeed more often than yourself. I find that with myself many times. I'll go out of my way to be helpful to others and support them in achieving their goals, often at times at the detriment of my own goals. It's rather foolish, but I think it tends to lead into my own self image and esteem which I am really trying to improve upon. There are ways to elevate yourself without becoming selfish, which is something I never want to be. I would love to be able to find the perfect balance for it.

reef, did you start on that stuff we spoke about yet?

i try to help others with their dreams too. i honestly feel that if i help them, i will be helping myself, plus i firmly believe in karma. it also makes me feel good to watch someone get what they want.

I got pretty messed up in high school, rocking it Ronny B style. I eventually joined the Marines and got some direction for my life. I think that everyone should serve their country and the idea that there are thousands of young men and women willing to lay down there life for mine is very inspiring.

I'm working on it. I'm missing a program I need, so I'm trying to get my hands on it.

Success.

And not the monetary kind.

Completing a rehearsal and knowing that I have found my character within myself.

Walking off stage after an emotional scene and feeling a release better than any therapy or orgasm can give to me.

Feeling the praise and respect of an audience who was truly moved by any aspect of what I have just done on stage. Knowing that, for just 2 hours, brought a smile to their face and helped them focus on something other than their own stress

These ... are the things that inspire me.

I have no idols and I think that is important. I am not inspired by what other people have done. I want to pave my own path and exchange ideas and learn from others.

Success.

And not the monetary kind.

.

Thanks Friday- this is what I am looking for. Money is the root of all evil so if you are guaging success on that you are misguided, I am looking for personal satisfaction and would rather live a modest life without the HD-TV and all that bullshit and be happy with what I am doing with life.
I hate money with a passion and I wish we could just learn and be SME's in what we are interested with no monetary consideration in regards to education or how we choose our career.

What A Great....And Difficult...Topic!

Fat's Been Thinking About This The Last Hour. He Went Through All The Obvious Stuff In His Head (His Heroes; Nature; Success) But It Then Clicked That What He Finds Most Inspiring Is When Regular People Do Special Things That Are Not Expected. Like When The Best Looking Girl In School Befriends The Ugly Girl; Or The Person Who Is Late For An Appointment Stopping To Help The Old Lady By The Side Of The Road. Just The Little Every Day Self-Sacrifices Ordinary People Make That Give You That Warm Feeling Inside And Inspire You To Do More For Your Fellow Man.

I want to do Sports Radio, so when listen to Mike and the Mad Dog or Joe Beningo and Evan Roberts, it makes me want it more b/c i get to do what i love and meet some amazing athletes and get to interview them. I dont care if i got a graveyard shift. Beningo had the overnights and he did fine. If i ever did broadcasting, i think id pick soccer as a sport. Id love to go to England an call matches, like Man U vs Chelsea and watch Wayne Rooney score and be able to give my commentary and such. sure, its a pipe dream, but in this life, ya never know.

My sons....My youngest when he was about 9 went to day car at the y...A lady came up to me in a grocery store crying....She said she had a Mentally handicapped child that started going there on that Monday..She worried all weekend before about the kids making fun of her little girl....She said my son took the little girl by the hand and played ping pong with her for hours....The patience he showed amazed this mother because her little girl could not even hit the ball back to my son.and they were still playing when she picked her up........I know the mother.... Really the whole family she said she had tried to call me and tell me this story but got the machine and hung up wanting to tell me in person....Then she ran in to me at the store an hour later....It was a very very proud moment for me one I will never forget..JUG.....It inspired me to get along with Tyler..My son he is hell on wheels But has a great soul!!!

This is the single greatest post in the history of RonFez.net.

Melly should be allowed to ransack the prize closet.

I must meet this daughter of hers; she's obviously an incredibly talented, intelligent, and cool chick.

Add me to the My Kids list.
Sean finished school on Monday. I asked him if he made the honor roll again.
He said no.

HIGH HONORS, DAD!!!!
Now he starts the swim team, and Webelos. I guess I am doing OK.

And the little one is already a novelist and number cruncher. He starts Kindergarten in September.
Things like this allow me to keep on keepin' on.

Fear and desire. Though mostly fear.

Fear of having to live with my parents again. Fear of not having money. Fear of being stuck as merely a data processor my entire life and the fear/knowledge that that might be all Im good for. Also that desire to just leave that level of equilibrium, not "happy" but a level of calm equilibrium where my world is at a level of complacency.

NICK: NEVER say anything bad about yourself. if you do not believe in yourself, no one else will. actually the perfect example of this are O&A. Opie mentions how great the show is all the time. I am sure not everytime he mentions he does he think they are having the best show, but he says it, people listen, soak it in, and they have massive audiences.

talking down about yourself in anyway, in my eyes, is considered a weakness. I try to never mention if I am tired, sick, or behind on work. being your own worse critic is good, if the final outcome is that you push yourself harder. it is bad if it depresses you and you share that with the rest of the office.

i know you work in tech, so just say things to people like "yea we got the server fixed before the morning so none of you would have to be without your files" or "internet was down, but I know how much you love to use it to look up useless shit, so i made sure it was running by the time you got in"

and i am telling you, presentation is a LOT in the buisness, esp since so many tech people are a mess. My boss, who is also the CFO and president of our company looks like he just got done wrestling with his clothes on when we show up places in the morning. he is all wrinkled, shitty cheap clothes, shirts that were giveaways. Now i do not spend a lot on clothes, but the clothes I do have I make sure are high quality so they look nice and last. guess what, a 15 dollar shirt looks like it cost 15 bucks. I wear mostly banana republic. and the thing is you only need like 8-10 nice shirts, just make sure none are overly noticeable or loud. no one notices exactly what you wear, so if you wear the same shit this friday and you did the previous monday, no one knows. but they do know that you look nice, have on some cologne, clean shaved, and look ready for anything.

you need to sell yourself everyday, because slowly people will buy in. sometimes i used to get shit at my old job because most people there dressed more casual, but when it was time to send someone to a law firm to conduct training, you know I was always asked to go, and that is shit i brought up in my yearly eval. push forward by yourself, cause you better believe no one else is going to do it for you.

these words right here should inspire anyone. The last sentence is something I will be taking with me. Sometimes inspiration can come from anywhere. Thanks Nick.

hey man glad I could help! but I actually look to you for motivation. you took your dream of doing radio, bought equipment, found out where and how you could get some time somewhere, and got it moving. def. an inspiration for someone who has a dream that has been festering for a while and making something of it.

it actually inspired me so much, that I might leave the tech/engineering industry. I am going to be going back to school in January at Rutgers for physics/math and hopefully will become a math teacher. Then I plan to get a 2nd masters in administration, and hopefully one day, not to far away, be an administrator at the highschool level.

it was always something I thought I would be good at, and the past 3 or 4 years I have been tuturing for side money, and I have really enjoyed it. listening to the joy in your voice on the show, and then listening to the pain in your voice when you talk about the job that pays you makes me feel so bad for you. In my case, school is the only thing stopping me, which is a lot easier than trying to break into radio. i hope one day we both realize our dreams!
