WFAN's (660 AM) in New York is having it's 20th anniversary this weekend.
Don Imus was a staple of the network since the beginning, so naturally they will play clips.
But here's my problem, Mike Francesa (an Imus supporter) is openly promoting this event...

so they can publicize don imus and replay his great moments, but hes too hurtful to the company to hire...

right, makes perfect sense to me

I've never liked Imus, but he is one major reason WFAN lasted at all. He gave them a morning show that made money and got some ratings. He was really their only anchor until Mike and the Mad Dog started doing afternoons.

right, makes perfect sense to me That's a HELL of a way to treat Opie's Dad! Love him or hate him,he still did what he did for over 30 years! I liked Imus & miss him...though sometimes I wonder why.He seemed to be "mailing it in" for awhile before his demise. those talking toadstools that he called guests were snoozy @ best.I used to Tivo him until about a week before he went under,it just wasn't worth it.
