Really! The kind that requires a stamp!
My Godmother and I usually keep in touch by e-mail. She's 80 years old. She just recently moved to Florida and haven't heard from her in months. I'm not sure what her computer situation is; I'm pretty sure she doesn't own one. She may use one at a college or a library.
This is really a strange thing. I haven't written a letter in ages.
Anyway, she's a great lady. She writes children's books. And she never forgets a birthday.
I just want to make sure things are ok with her and her husband (it's not unlike my family to "forget" to tell me things).

The first thing that I thought about when I saw the title of this thread was the movie "White Chicks". I thought you were going to write a letter to complain about something.
Does she have a phone? 80 years old and knows how to use e-mail. Tha'ts pretty good. Usually people shun new technology, especially one that they didn't grow up with. Heck, my mom doesn't even know how to work a computer, e-mail, or a cell phone. We got her a cordless phone and she asked if she could take the phone with her to the bank, if it would still work!
Hope your Godmother is okay.

what kind of childrens books does she write?
Very simple, paperback ones. My favorite is, "Sasha, That's Me!"
It's about a boy in Florida who is visited by his Russian grandpa. His g'pa tells him stories of the old country when he was a child. The boy " realizes that 'kids' are the same no matter where they live, regardless of their cultural and language difference and develops a keener awareness of 'our' world and a greater understanding of Juan, his best friend, who once only spoke Spanish."
Err, sorry, that was wordy.
She really is a cool person. No wonder she was my mom's best friend.
A vibrant dating life, hand-written letters....I wish I was Fuzzybutt!
She got it goin' on!

Alice, can I get a copy of one of those books? Sean has to do a lot of summer reading for TLC. It sounds like he may enjoy it. He loves travel and other cultures.

Cool. Where can I buy one? Should I write her a letter? Do you have one?
After he reads it, I'll have the boy write her a letter. He does that. He also loves autographed books.

She really is the SWEETEST lady and she will be THRILLED to hear someone wants her books.

I'm sorry, my mind is blinded by a Super Sugar Crisps cereal box. With a 45.

Correct. And The Beach Boys did a cool cover of it on their bootleg Lei'd in Hawaii.

I loved when Archie sat down with pen and paper and put a tie on to write to Richard Nixon

The last letter I wrote looked something like this
Dear Advertisers,
I am disgusted with the way old people are depicted on television.
We are not all vibrant, fun-loving sex maniacs. Many of us are bitter,
resentful individuals who remember the good old days when entertainment
was bland and inoffensive. The following is a list of words I never
want to hear on television again. Number one: Bra. Number two: Horny.
Number three: Family Jewels.
