Looks like he just posted this on the new york radio message board.
Posted by Dick Farrel on July 01, 2007 at 01:14:24:
A 8 weeks ago I posted a blog. Civil, coherent, reasonable. I said, O and A should get "Imus treatment" for joking about a rape of an African-American Woman.
A few followers of this program(O and A) took 8 weeks to respond.Vicious e-mails laced with bigotry, insensative-illogical and oft times
vulgar atavistic diatribe. Language more suitable for a crack house to be fair.
"Sticks and stones" ofcourse, but one of these
"people masqueraders" went so far as to phone a bomb threat to an advertiser. Needless to say, Homeland Security has been notified.
They also made unsuccesful attempts to block the lines into THE DICK FARREL SHOW, and have gone on to threaten "an Attack" for the coming week.
It is just quite amazing how fair comment, free speech and open, legitamite criticism can evoke these eviseral neanderthal reactions simply because their radio heros earned and deserved
the calumny showered upon them

He can not be sure it was a pest. There are bomb threats called into places all of the time. So for him to say it was a fan is uncalled for.

It's possible, but would you really be at all surprised if some mouth-breather called in a bomb threat?

not at all. if people will email me threats of throwing regina down a flight of stairs and worse, then a bomb threat is not out of the question.

At first I thought he used semantics to make up this bomb threat but now... the pests have horrible timing and love to use their own brand of (unfunny) satire.

I don't know who Dick Ferrel is, but it seems weird that people fighting for free speech would try to silence the people that they diagree with. It just doesn't make sense.

They're not trying to to silence him, they invited him onto their show to have an open discussion and he refused. So they attempting to "persuade" him.
Not only do I not see it as censorship, but an attempt to bring things to light. He said things that were both derogatory and inaccurate and is trying to slink back into the shadows of the internet now that he's being questioned on his viewpoints.... as a fellow broadcaster, he's being a coward by taking a few blind potshots and running for cover. At least Mike North had the fortitude to defend his position on the air, which is all they want of Ferral as well... So yeah, I'd say they aren't trying to silence someone else as much as shine a light on what he had to say, whether he wants it or not. Part of the consequences for cracking on someone in public is that you risk getting called out in public, and Dick seems like he's trying to dodge it by fading back into obscurity....

This guy is an example of how NOT to use a thesaurus when you write.

Dick Farrel should take it to the boards, with his size he's a definite force in the paint. If he keeps it up he could be a triple-double threat.

This is my least favorite part of the O&A show: why spend so much time and effort trashing what some one-market loser said about you? Who cares?
And it's made worse by crazed "pests" who don't know when the joke has gone too far.

Opie nailed this guy.
He's the douche that drops a big word here and there to TRY his hardest to look intelligent, but he just ends up looking even more the ass.

Because here's the problem.
Sometimes, when they trash other radio programs, it turns into gold. Whoopi Goldberg, etc.
In this case, it turned into a Phillips Phile/Farrell mess. Funny for a few minutes, but then it just goes south in a hurry.

Opie also nailed it with (paraphrase) "People that criticize other radio shows are just jealous of their success."
Hmm so what are O&A when it comes to them making fun of the radio shows that are beating them in other markets.

Wow, I just read this douche's entire thread on Sniffen's board.
1) Way to go to Sniffen's regulars. They basically told him to STFU.
2) He's coming off on that board WAY bad. He's going into a war and totally not understanding his enemy, which is a mistake on so many levels.

don't know if it was pointed out on the air (or if this was what other people meant) but this is one hilarious sentence. never mind that he misspelled legitimate and visceral, but he is wicked off on what calumny means. calumny (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/calumny) is "a false and malicious statement designed to injure the reputation of someone or something." so o&a deserved to be libeled, is essentially what he's saying. interesting choice of words.

I don't know if Sniffen's antiquated software allows him to check IPs or not. Considering Allen spoke to him directly, I'm guessing he thinks he's legit.

I find that's usually the case, not the "radio gold".
I mean, I suppose it's kind of a high risk/high reward strategy, but it usually just doesn't work for me.

When I was trying to figure out how goofing on other shows generated a positive result that all the listeners enjoyed, the only situation I could think of was Whoopi. In EVERY OTHER SINGLE CASE, the pests got involved and drove it into the ground. The only other situation is that the goofing on Howard is OK in small doses, but that's only because of personal animosity which makes it "real" (hey, who hasn't disliked a more successful coworker who is a real ass?)
I've noticed that O&A have not relied on goofing on Howard as of late.
But this better not be picked up again later.
BTW, why would Homeland Security involved? A bomb threat is for local and state police and the FBI, not DHS.

He probably took "local police," looked it up in a thesaurus and came up with another law enforcement agency.

Oh - I forgot - goofing on other radio stations that was funny - goofing on CBS-FM. But that was more about goofing on the actual SHOW and not vitriol generated by the other hosts' comments.
In fact, I take back what I said. Whoopi and CBS-FM was all about O&A goofing on how bad they are, not personally attacking them, which was instigated by Mancow, the Phillips Phile, Ferrell, etc.

I somehow managed to stumble upon his post just minutes after he posted it. I simply left a short reply saying "Sounds like a plug for your show", then thought better of it and made a following reply explaining myself. When I woke up the next morning the two replys had been taken down by Sniffen, and only to find a few hours later what it blew up to. I guess once the Pests attacked Allan realized the guy was full of sh*t.
