I've been seeing more and more very good fireworks displays at people's homes the past few years. The good ones are illegal here, but a lot of people drive up the highway to Breezewood, PA to Phantom Fireworks. As long as you can show an out of state ID, they will sell you all the good stuff.

I miss fireworks. when i was a kid, the mobster across the street from us (who one day got two in his ear while hanging christmas lights) would close the street down and just light up the night for us. one woman would call the cops, they would come, eat a cheeseburger and be on their way or she would turn her sprinklers on in hopes that it would make him stop. never worked. in all the years that he did it for us, no one was ever hurt or anything. it was just fun. now, i have to watch fireworks on my TV or shlep to somewhere. not the same at all.
